Interrupted inferior vena cava (IVC) is a rare developmental defect. IVC interruption is usually accompanied with azygos and hemiazygos continuation, and is asymptomatic. Here, we report the imaging findings of a patient with an interrupted IVC with diffuse collaterals between the infrarenal IVC and large renal veins, left gonadal, and perirectal haemorrhoidal-portal collateral veins with associated haematochezia.

Our aim was to investigate the effects of two alpha(1)-adrenergic blockers-tamsulosin and alfuzosin-on pupil diameter (PD). In this prospective randomized single-blind clinical trial, 64 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia received treatment with either tamsulosin or alfuzosin. The same ophthalmologist, masked to the given medication, evaluated patients prior to, 4 weeks after and 6 months after the start of the medication (day 0, day 28 and month 6).

Pelvic congestion syndrome is characterized by chronic pelvic pain and varicose veins around the uterus and ovaries. We report two cases of double retroaortic left renal vein, associated with left-sided pelvic congestion syndrome, diagnosed by CT and confirmed by clinical findings and colour Doppler ultrasound. Double retroaortic left renal veins may be a contributing factor for the development of left pelvic congestion syndrome.

Cranial nerve involvement in brucellosis is rare. We present a case of brucellosis presenting with optic neuritis and abducens nerve palsy on the left side. Cerebrospinal fluid findings indicated Brucella meningitis with high protein count, low sugar level and pleocystosis.

The role of parasitic infection in the aetiology of acute appendicitis has been discussed for more than 100 years. The aim of this retrospective study was to determine the prevalence of parasitic infection in surgically removed appendices, and to identify whether this type of infection is associated with appendicitis. 104 appendices were removed from patients clinically diagnosed with acute appendicitis, and 30 were removed in the course of other surgical procedures.

Objective: To evaluate dialysis history, imaging findings and outcome of endovascular treatment in six patients with central venous stenosis without a history of previous catheter placement.
Material And Methods: Between April 2000 and June 2004, six (10%) of 57 haemodialysis patients had stenosis of a central vein without a previous central catheter placement. Venography findings and outcome of endovascular treatment in these six patients were retrospectively evaluated.

A 24-year-old woman with uncontrollable high blood pressure for 3 months had significant stenosis of the left renal artery caused by fibromuscular dysplasia (FMD). The lesion was resistant to percutaneous transluminal angioplasty at 18 atm with a semicompliant balloon. Angioplasy with a 6 x 10 mm cutting balloon (CB) caused rupture of the artery.

Solid-pseudopapillary tumour of the pancreas is a rare benign or low-grade malignant epithelial tumour; its association with pancreatic dorsal agenesis has been reported only once before. We present the radiological and histological findings of a case of pancreatic solid-pseudopapillary tumour associated with total pancreatic dorsal agenesis. A 49-year-old woman presented with abdominal pain radiating to the back for several months.
