Objective: Maturity onset diabetes of the young (MODY) occurs due to mutations in genes involved in pancreatic beta cell function and insulin secretion, has heterogeneous clinical and laboratory features, and account for 1-5% of all diabetes cases. The prevalence and distribution of MODY subtypes vary between countries. The aim of this study was to evaluate the clinical and laboratory characteristics, mutation distribution, and phenotype-genotype relationship in a large case series of pediatric Turkish patients genetically diagnosed with MODY.

Background And Aims: Congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) is a group of disorders that affect the production of steroids in the adrenal gland and are inherited in an autosomal recessive pattern. The clinical and biochemical manifestations of the disorder are diverse, ranging from varying degrees of anomalies of the external genitalia to life-threatening adrenal insufficiency. This multicenter study aimed to determine the demographics, biochemical, clinical, and genetic characteristics besides the current status of adult patients with CAH nationwide.

Objective: Spontaneous reperfusion (SR) presence and a low PREdicting bleeding Complications In patients undergoing Stent implantation and subsEquent Dual Anti Platelet Therapy (PRECISE-DAPT) score in patients with acute coronary syndrome have been associated with favorable clinical outcomes. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between SR and this score.
Methods: The study included 436 patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) who underwent primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).

Background: Aortic valve sclerosis (AVS) is characterized by thickening of the valve leaflets accompanied by increased echogenicity and calcification without significant limitations in valve movements. Omentin-1 is a glycoprotein of the adiponectin family released from visceral adipose tissue, and it can be used as a biomarker of atherosclerosis, obesity, and metabolic syndrome. No studies have demonstrated any relationship between AVS and omentin-1 in the literature.

As inflammation plays a significant role in the development of coronary artery disease, we hypothesized that there may be a relation between the systemic immune inflammation index (SII) and saphenous vein graft disease (SVGD). The study population consisted of 716 consecutive patients who underwent elective coronary angiography (CAG) >1 year after bypass grafting. The patients were divided into 2 groups depending on the extent of SVG patency.

Objective: Although the prevalence and rate of myocardial infarction with non-obstructive coronary arteries (MINOCA) are higher in women than in men in previous cohorts, potential demographic and clinical differences between women who are diagnosed with MINOCA versus myocardial infarction with obstructive coronary arteries (MIOCA) have not been studied till date. In this study, we aimed to document these characteristics and to compare them between female patients with MINOCA and MIOCA.
Methods: The study was a subgroup analysis of the MINOCA-TR study.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate whether the volume and morphology of the olfactory bulb are effective in the occurrence of anosmia in patients after COVID-19 infection.
Methods: The olfactory bulbus volume was calculated by examining the brain magnetic resonance imaging of cases with positive (+) COVID-19 polymerase chain reaction test with and without anosmia. Evaluated magnetic resonance imaging images were the scans of patients before they were infected with COVID-19.
Background: Atrial fibrillation (AF) prevalence in patients with acute myocardial infarction (MI) ranges from 3% to 25%. However demographic, clinical, and angiographic characteristics of AF patients who admitted with de novo MI are unclear. The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence of patients presenting with de novo MI with AF.

This study was conducted to compare the long-term oncological outcomes of laparotomy and laparoscopic surgeries in endometrial cancer under the light of the 2016 ESMO-ESGO-ESTRO risk classification system, with particular focus on the high-intermediate- and high-risk categories. Using multicentric databases between January 2005 and January 2016, disease-free and overall survivals of 2745 endometrial cancer cases were compared according to the surgery route (laparotomy vs. laparoscopy).

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is one of the most common chronic diseases, and is a risk factor for atrial cardiomyopathy. Interatrial block (IAB), as a predictor of AF, is correlated with the extent of LA fibrosis in the process of atrial cardiomyopathy. We have not encountered any study evaluating LA and LV functions with 3D-STE in the presence of IAB in the T2DM patients.

Objective: Delayed primary suture closure of gastric perforation is prone to dehiscence hence the repaired area should be buttressed to avoid re-operation. We aimed to investigate whether DuraSeal®(DS) has a potent adjunctive effect on delayed closure of gastric perforation comparing with 2-octly-cyanoacrylate(CYN) in an experimental model.
Methods: Sixty rats were randomly divided into 6 groups.

Aortic valve sclerosis (AVS) is defined as calcified and thickened aortic leaflets without restriction of leaflet motion. We have not found any studies that previously assessed the effect of AVS on myocardial functions with three dimensional-speckle tracking echocardiography (3D-STE). Therefore, we aimed to identify any early changes in left atrial (LA) myocardial dynamics and/or left ventricular (LV) systolic functions in patients with AVS using 3D-STE.

Introduction: Elderly patients hospitalized with heart failure (HF) have high mortality rates and requires specific evidence based theraphy, however there are few studies which have focused on patients older than 80 years hospitalized with HF. The aim of the present study is to evaluate the overall clinical characteristics, management, and in-hospital outcomes of elderly patients hospitalized with HF.
Methods: Journey-HF study was conducted in 37 different centers in Turkey and recruited 1606 patients who were hospitalized with HF between September 2015 and September 2016.

Background/aims: Reports on adrenal insufficiency (AI) are unexpectedly high in cirrhosis, and the diagnosis of this condition remains a challenge. We aimed to define the prevalence rate of AI in stable cirrhotic patients and determine the correlations of free cortisol and salivary cortisol with total cortisol.
Materials And Methods: Between January 2011 and September 2011, 110 consecutive cirrhotic patients without any infection or hemodynamic instability were enrolled.

Aim: The aim of this study was to review our exogenous cesarean scar pregnancy (CSP) cases that were managed through transabdominal ultrasound (TAUS)-guided suction curettage either alone or with a concomitant additional therapeutic modality. The study was carried out over a 6-year period and we compared clinical outcomes, success rates and complication profiles between the two therapeutic approaches.
Methods: A total of 33 exogenous CSP patients who were managed by suction curettage were extracted from the medical records.

Objective: Sacrococcygeal pilonidal sinus is common in young men and may recur over time after surgery. We investigated whether a factor exists that can aid in the determination of the preferred technique between the early Limberg flap and Karydakis flap techniques for treating recurrent pilonidal sinus.
Materials And Methods: This prospective and randomized study enrolled 71 patients with recurrent pilonidal sinus in whom the Limberg flap or Karydakis flap techniques were applied for reconstruction after excision.
