Effects of visit restriction in the COVID-19 pandemic: Experiences and perceptions of intensive care nurses.

Background: The visit restrictions imposed as a result of COVID-19 precluded the entrance of the patient's family into the confines of the intensive care unit.

Aim: This study evaluated the experiences of intensive care nurses (ICNs) regarding COVID-19 visit restrictions and their opinions on these restrictions.

Study Design: From May 2023 to July 2023, semi-structured interviews with 15 ICNs from intensive care units in a tertiary public hospital in Türkiye were conducted.

Aims: This study aimed to assess the female circumcision (FC) experiences, healthcare needs, and access to health services of foreign university students who are victims of female genital mutilation and studying in Turkey.

Methods: This descriptive qualitative study was conducted in the Faculty of Health Science in a state university in Turkey from December 2021 to January 2022. Eight students who had been subjected to FC participated in this study.

Introduction: Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) is present in 2%-3% of those under 18 years old and has a significant impact on pain, function and quality of life. Up to 10% of adolescents with AIS progress to spinal fusion surgery, and of those individuals many experience reduced musculoskeletal function and do not return to sports postoperatively. This study was conducted to determine the levels of hope and spiritual well-being among relatives of intensive care patients. The data were collected using the Patient Descriptive Information Form, Trait Hope Scale, and Spiritual Well-Being Scale. The mean total scores on the Trait Hope Scale and the Spiritual Well-Being Scale were 48.

Road to Recovery: protocol for a mixed-methods prospective cohort study evaluating the impact of a new model of substance use care in a Canadian setting.

Introduction: The Road to Recovery (R2R) Initiative is an innovative model of substance use care that seeks to increase treatment capacity by creating approximately 100 new addiction treatment beds to provide on-demand addiction care in Vancouver, British Columbia, for patients with substance use disorders. The new model also coordinates the region's existing clinical substance use services to support patients across a care continuum that includes traditional office-based addiction treatment and harm reduction services, early withdrawal management and more intensive abstinence-based treatment programming. To understand the impact of offering on-demand and coordinated substance use care, an observational cohort of individuals who access any R2R clinical service will be created to examine health and social outcomes over time.

Clinical and genetic delineation of autosomal recessive and dominant ACTL6B-related developmental brain disorders.

Purpose: This study aims to comprehensively delineate the phenotypic spectrum of ACTL6B-related disorders, previously associated with both autosomal recessive and autosomal dominant neurodevelopmental disorders. Molecularly, the role of the nucleolar protein ACTL6B in contributing to the disease has remained unclear.

Methods: We identified 105 affected individuals, including 39 previously reported cases, and systematically analysed detailed clinical and genetic data for all individuals.

From Treatment to Recovery: Gynecological Survivors' and Caregivers' Perspectives About the Usability of an Educational Resource.

The objective of this study was to understand gynecological cancer (GC) survivors' and their informal caregivers' perceptions about the usability of an educational resource to support their transition from primary cancer treatment into surveillance and/or recovery. After developing an empirical- and experiential-informed educational resource, we used a semi-structured questioning process to understand GC survivors and their caregivers' perceptions about its usability. Data were collected via online focus groups or 1:1 interviews that were audio recorded and transcribed.

Objective: Impairment in the integration of different vestibular stimuli is the proposed mechanisms in vestibular migraine (VM). In this study, it was aimed to assess the vestibulo-ocular reflex (VOR) and dynamic visual acuity (DVA) in patients with VM and to compare the results with migraine without vestibular symptoms (MwoV), and persistent postural-perceptual dizziness (PPPD) to find out if there are discriminative differences and search for a correlation with the levels of anxiety.

Methods: The sample for this methodological research consisted of parents with babies aged 6 to 30 months between March and June 2024 in a city in eastern Turkey. The data were collected from 354 parents for exploratory factor analysis, from 213 parents for confirmatory factor analysis, and from 70 for the test-retest reliability study.
