The Relationship Between Pain Acceptance and Acceptance of Illness in Individuals with Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Objective: Managing treatment and symptoms of chronic diseases without accepting the illness is challenging. This study aimed to determine the relationship between pain acceptance and the acceptance of illness in individuals with rheumatoid arthritis (RA).

Methods: In this descriptive study of 123 people diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), data were collected through a questionnaire.

Determination of nutritional status and protein-energy wasting in patients with diabetic nephropathy.

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the nutritional status of patients with stage 3 and 4 diabetic nephropathy (DN; DN-3 and DN-4) and to explain the effect of DN stages on the prognosis of protein-energy wasting (PEW).

Methods: Data from demographic characteristics, anthropometric measurements, biochemical findings, food consumption records, and the Subjective Global Assessment (SGA) screening tool of 49 patients (25 DN-3; 24 DN-4) who were followed at the nephrology department were collected. The criteria of the International Society of Renal Nutrition and Metabolism (ISRNM) were used to determine PEW.

Evaluation of corporate experiences during the accreditation process in the field of health - A qualitative study.

Objective: In our study, we attempted to determine the accreditation process experience of hospital senior managers accredited by the Turkish Health Care Quality and Accreditation Institute (TUSKA). Along with the institutions' accomplishments through the accreditation program, the major challenges they faced during the accreditation process were revealed.

Methods: One of the qualitative research designs used was interpretive phenomenological analysis, which was carried out through semi-structured interviews with hospital senior managers.

Experiences of migrant seasonal agricultural worker mothers in earthquakes: A phenomenological study.

Objective: Seasonal agricultural migration leads to both economic hardship and humanitarian challenges. Individuals involved in this migration face severe poverty and deprivation, with mothers critical participants in agrarian work, being especially vulnerable due to challenging conditions and family responsibilities. This study explores the experiences of migratory seasonal agricultural worker mothers and their children, particularly how the earthquake in Turkey impacted them on February 6, 2023.

Interventions to enhance corporate sector engagement in tuberculosis response in Africa: a scoping review protocol.

Introduction: Tuberculosis (TB) is a significant public health crisis in Africa. TB control programmes implemented by various state and non-state actors in different African countries over the years have recorded significant gains in the reduction of the incidence and prevalence of TB through the vehicle of private care provider engagement in the diagnosis, treatment and care. However, the corporate sector, which often represents a large pool of resources and access to individuals, is neglected or underestimated in the public-private mix of TB control efforts.

Reverse Wafer Procedure.

 This study aimed to present the results of an alternative technique for treating ulnar impaction syndrome, the "reverse wafer procedure," and assess the mid-term clinical outcomes of patients treated with this technique.  A retrospective evaluation was conducted on 14 patients who underwent the reverse wafer procedure for ulnar impaction syndrome between 2013 and 2020. The inclusion criteria for the study were persistent ulnar-sided wrist pain, even after a minimum of 3 months of nonoperative treatment, the presence of a chondral lesion on the lunate, and an intact triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) based on arthroscopic evaluation.

Rate of decline in kidney function with age: a systematic review.

Objective: To determine the distribution of kidney function values as measured by glomerular filtration rate (GFR), and the rate of decline with age in male and female healthy subjects without pre-existing medical conditions.

Design: Systematic review and structured synthesis.

Factors associated with retakes in health Professions Courses: A case study of Five selected Universities in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Background: Academic examination retakes are significant challenges in health professions education. With rigorous clinical assessments, limited training resources and high-stakes examinations, students struggle to meet academic requirements which cab result in retakes. This study aimed to assess the proportion of medical and nursing students with retakes across five Sub-Saharan African universities and to explore factors contributing to the retakes.

Discriminant analysis of occupational performance characteristics in patients with major depressive disorders and healthy individuals.

Aim: Assessing symptoms and daily functioning in patients with major depressive disorder (MDD) can be challenging, as their limited self-monitoring abilities may result in behavior observed during structured interviews not accurately reflecting their daily lives. This study aimed to determine if specific occupational behaviors could distinguish individuals with MDD from healthy individuals.

Methods: Baseline data were collected from medical records and activity programs.

Determination of the relationship between competencies in disaster nursing management and perceived stress: The intermediary role of resilience.

Background: Türkiye encounters various natural disasters, foremost earthquakes, and, nurses' resilience, ability to cope with stress and disaster competence play a significant role in disasters.

Objective: The objective of this study is to establish the intermediary role of resilience in the relation between nurses' competencies in disaster management and perceived stress.

Method: The sampling of this descriptive and cross-sectional study included 240 nurses from across Türkiye.

Psychometric Properties of the Turkish Version of Spondyloarthritis Knowledge Questionnaire: A Methodological Study.

Background: Information and education are recommended for patients with inflammatory arthritis including spondyloarthritis (SpA). However, there is no Turkish instrument available to measure the knowledge level of patients with SpA. The study aimed to translate the Spondyloarthritis Knowledge Questionnaire (SPAKE) into Turkish and investigate its validity and reliability.

Comparison of Blood Pressure Measurement Results from Two Different Regions (Upper Arm and Ankle).

Background: This study was conducted to determine the clinical concordance of non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP) measurements from the upper arm and ankle and to determine whether there is a difference between them.

Methods: A prospective and cross-sectional research design was used in this study. The study population included 106 patients hospitalized in the surgical clinics of a training and research hospital.

Statin-treated RBC dynamics in a microfluidic porous-like network.

The impact of therapeutic interventions on red blood cell (RBC) deformability and microscale transport is investigated, using statins as an exemplar. Human RBCs were treated in vitro with two commonly prescribed statins, atorvastatin and rosuvastatin, at clinically relevant concentrations. Changes in RBC deformability were quantified using a microfluidic-based ektacytometer and expressed in terms of the elongation index.

Impact of structural factors around the accessory nerve on the pathogenesis of essential neck and upper-back stiffness: a sonographic investigation.

Introduction: Neck and upper-back stiffness involves discomfort/ache in the trapezius muscle (TM). The pathogenesis of 'essential neck and upper-back stiffness' without obvious causes remains uncertain. In symptomatic subjects, TM hardness correlates with decreased transverse cervical artery (TCA) blood flow to the TM.

The Turkish version of the brief Michigan hand outcomes questionnaire: cross-cultural adaptation, validity, and reliability testing.

Objective: This study aimed to develop the Turkish version of the Brief Michigan Hand Outcomes Questionnaire (B-MHQ) and to demonstrate its reliability and validity for evaluating hand function in the Turkish population with hand/wrist disorders.

Methods: This study was conducted in accordance with Beaton et al.'s Guidelines for the Process of Cross-Cultural Adaptation of SelfReport Measures.

Evaluation of Coping Mechanism of Mothers of Children with Chronic Diseases During Coronavirus Disease 2019 Pandemic.

Aim:: The aim of this study was to determine the problems, perceived stress, and coping with the stress of mothers of children with chronic diseases during the pandemic.

Methods:: The study was conducted with cross-sectional design. The data were gathered from the mothers of children with chronic diseases who were followed up at the endocrine outpatient clinic of a hospital in Istanbul between February 1, 2021, and May 31, 2021.

The Effect of Peripheral Neuropathy on Disability and Anxiety.

One of the most common problems in individuals receiving neurotoxic chemotherapy is neuropathy. The study aimed to evaluate the peripheral neuropathy and the relationship between neuropathy, disability, and anxiety in patients receiving neurotoxic chemotherapy. The sample of the study consisted of individuals with cancer in the chemotherapy unit of a city hospital between March and July 2021.

Level of nurse-nurse collaboration and influencing factors in Türkiye and Italy: a mixed-methods study.

Background: Collaboration between nurses is crucial in improving quality in healthcare and plays a key role in increasing nurses' job satisfaction.

The relationship between moral distress and cultural sensitivity levels in pediatric nurses: A cross-sectional study.

Purpose: The study aimed to determine the relationship between moral distress and intercultural sensitivity levels among pediatric nurses.

Design And Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted between June 1, 2023 and March 1, 2024. The sample of the study consisted of 120 nurses working in pediatric units in public, university and training and research hospitals in a provincial center in the Western region of Turkey.

Improving speech intelligibility in noise and spatial perception: the critical role of hearing aid microphone position.

Introduction: Hearing aid (HA) manufacturers have introduced behind-the-ear (BTE) models where the microphone is positioned in the ear canal, which could impact auditory performance by distorting the pinna's acoustic cues. This study aimed to compare two different BTE HAs with varying microphone positions: the receiver in the ear (RITE) and the transducer in the ear (TIE).

Methods: The study involved 10 participants who had never used HAs before.
