Production of phosphorus efficient genotypes in groundnut can improve and also reduces environmental pollution. Identification of P-efficient groundnut genotypes is a need of the hour to sustain in P-deficient soils. The pot experiment showed significant differences between genotypes (G) and treatments (T) for all the traits and G × T interaction for majority of traits.

Rice is highly vulnerable to salt stress at both seedling and flowering stage. While research efforts largely focused on seedling stage salinity tolerance, flowering stage salt tolerance studies are limited. Development of rice cultivars with salt tolerance at both stages will enhance rice productivity in salt affected farmlands.

The paper describes the synthesis and characterization of copper oxide nanoparticles (CuO NPs) using the mixture of plant rhizome extracts and as a reducing agent. The prepared CuO nanoparticles are characterized and confirmed their formation based on data obtained from powder X-ray diffraction spectroscopy, Fourier Transmission Infrared, Ultraviolet-Visible spectra, Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy images, Energy Dispersive X-ray analysis and Dynamic light scattering techniques and data reveal that the average size of CuO Nps was 103.4 nm.

Mungbean yellow mosaic India virus (MYMIV) is one of the most serious commonly occurring yellow mosaic virus (YMV's) group in majority of the pulses especially black gram and green gram in southern India compared to previously reported mungbean yellow mosaic virus. In January 2020 and showing mosaic symptoms and vein yellowing were collected from Guntur and Prakasam districts respectively in Andhra Pradesh. PCR analysis using MYMIV and betasatellite specific primers gave desired expected amplification from the infected samples of (YMV-ABEL) whereas only MYMIV specific amplification was obtained in (YMV-DES).

Mcy protein, isolated from the fruits of Momordica cymbalaria, was shown to have antihyperglycemic, antihyperlipidemic activities along with renal as well as hepatoprotective activities in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats. Mcy protein was shown to have insulin-like structure and/or function and/or insulin secretagogue activity. Hence, the present study was conducted to elucidate the molecular mechanism whereby Mcy protein elicits its therapeutic role and also to know whether the Mcy protein has any structural and functional similarity with insulin.

A duplex PCR assay was standardized by optimizing PCR reaction constituents and cycles for the simultaneous detection of chickpea chlorotic dwarf virus (CpCDV) and a peanut witches' broom (PnWB) phytoplasma associated with the chickpea stunt disease. Coat protein gene and gene specific primers for CpCDV and phytoplasmas were used. Different concentrations of the PCR components such as polymerase, primers and PCR annealing temperature were standardized for the identification of the two agents by a duplex PCR assay.

Phosphorus (P) is one of the major constraints for crop growth and development, owing to low availability and least mobility in many tropical soil conditions. Categorization of existing germplasm under P deficient conditions is a prerequisite for the selection and development of P efficient genotypes in the mungbean. In the present investigation, 36 diverse genotypes were categorized for phosphorus use efficiency traits using four different techniques for identification of phosphorus use efficient mungbean genotypes.

Despite advanced therapeutic strategies, the mortality and morbidity of pancreatic cancer (PC) have been increasing. This is due to the anomalous proliferation activity of stromal cells, like cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs), in the tumor microenvironment (TME). These cells develop resistance in the tumor cells, blocking the drug from entering the target tumor site, ultimately resulting in tumor metastasis.

In this study, we report quantitative trait loci (QTLs) for iron (Fe) and zinc (Zn) content from three distinct production environments. We generated a genetic linkage map using 210 F recombinant inbred line (RIL) population derived from the (PPMI 683 × PPMI 627) cross using genome-wide simple sequence repeats (SSRs).

Adaptation strategies were developed that are locally relevant by identifying a set of technologies that help to offset potential impacts of climate change on maize yields. Impacts and adaptation options were evaluated using projections by 20 Coupled Model Intercomparison Project-Phase 5 (CMIP5) climate models under two representative concentration pathways (RCPs) 4.

Farmers rely heavily on the use of strobilurin fungicides to manage sheath blight (ShB) caused by AG1-IA, the most important disease in rice in the southern United States. Greenhouse and field studies were conducted to evaluate the potential use of plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPRs) in combination with a reduced rate of azoxystrobin application as a strategy to improve the current fungicide-reliant management. Of the nine antagonistic PGPR strains screened in the greenhouse, strain MBI600 provided the most significant and consistent suppression of ShB.
