Background: Appropriate selection of double-lumen tube sizes for one-lung ventilation is crucial to prevent airway damage. Current selection methods rely on demographic factors or 2D radiography. Prediction of left bronchial diameter is indispensable for choosing the adequate tube size.

Introduction: Cryoballoon ablation (CBA) aiming at pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) became a standardized atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation procedure. Life-threatening complications like cardiac tamponade exist. Intracardiac echocardiography (ICE) usage is associated with superior safety in radiofrequency ablation.

Olfactory Schwannomas (OS) are a rare, benign tumour entity. Throughout literature, only few cases have been reported. We describe here a case of a 75-year-old female with a contrast enhanced mass lesion in the anterior fossa, who underwent a surgical removal and its histopathological analysis was consistent with a schwannoma.

Carboxytherapy is a medical technique during which a sterile gas-carbon dioxide-is injected into the subdermal tissue. The utility of carbon dioxide injections has enhanced the practical relevance of carboxytherapy as a method for the management of multiple disorders. We have evaluated its use in the treatment of dermatologic conditions by searching electronic databases (ie, MEDLINE and PubMed) for contributions in the English language through January 2021.

Background: Cryoballoon ablation (CBA) for pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) is a standard in atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation but might not be enough in complex atrial arrhythmias (AA). An open three-dimensional wide-band dielectric imaging system (3D-WBDIS) has been introduced to guide CBA.
Material And Methods: Pilot study evaluating feasibility and safety of 3D-WBDIS in combination with CBA and optional radiofrequency ablation (RFA) in patients with complex AA defined as (1) history of persistent AF, (2) additional atrial tachycardia/flutter, or (3) previous left atrial ablation.

This case illustrates rare osteoarticular complications of Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) immunotherapy in a 55-year-old male with high-risk non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC). The patient was referred for 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose ([18F]FDG) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) to rule out bone metastases suspected on prior post-gadolinium magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Although metastases were excluded, nearly symmetrical uptakes were detected in the costovertebral and costotransverse joints.

Background: Vitiligo is a long-standing progressive autoimmune disease with depigmented macules/patches with significant psychological morbidity to the patients. From being one of the most poorly understood diseases in the past, there has been a rampant advance in determining the molecular and genetic factors influencing the disease process. More light has been shed on the complex intracellular environment and interplay between innate and adaptive immunity.

Cryoballoon ablation is established for pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) in paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF). The objective was to evaluate CBA strategy in consecutive patients with persistent AF in the initial AF ablation procedure. Prospectively, patients with symptomatic persistent AF scheduled for AF ablation all underwent cryoballoon PVI.

A 23-year-old woman with primary mediastinal large B-cell lymphoma was referred to 18F-FDG PET/CT for staging. Besides the large mediastinal FDG-avid tumor, another FDG-avid lesion with an SUV higher than expected in corpus luteum cysts was found in the pelvis, raising suspicion for tumor. However, gynecologic ultrasound and review of patient chart revealed history of oncofertility treatment with GNRH analog.

Introduction: Diagnosis of dermatological disorders is primarily based on clinical examination in combination with histopathology. However, clinical findings alone may not be sufficient for accurate diagnosis and cutaneous biopsies are being associated with morbidity.
Objective: The objective of this article is to review the newer technologies along with their applications, limitation and future prospectus.

Background: Left atrial appendage (LAA) is a potential source of atrial fibrillation (AF) triggers.
Hypothesis: LAA morphology and dimensions are associated with AF recurrence after pulmonary vein isolation (PVI).
Methods: From cardiac computed tomography angiography (CCTA), left atrial (LA), pulmonary vein (PV), and LAA anatomy were assessed in cryoballoon ablation (CBA) patients.

The emergence of the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic has led to a change in the whole world order. The key actors and occupational groups most at risk during this period have been health care professionals. In this pandemic, we, as dermatologists, also have many responsibilities regarding patients, ourselves, and society.

Patients with vitiligo often seek medical attention, as it diminishes their quality of life resulting in significant morbidity. Several topical and systemic therapies are in vogue targeting the immunological aspect of this disease, but results are often unsatisfactory, and complete cure remains elusive. Recently, simvastatin, a 3-hydroxy-3-methylyglutaryl-coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase inhibitor, is being evaluated for vitiligo management because of its multimodal action, easy availability, and low cost.

COVID-19 pandemic emerged as a condition that changed our entire life and led us to develop new perspectives on diseases. Cancers are generally additional risk factors for COVID-19, and this has implications also for skin cancer patients. Those patients require special attention, due to situations such as an increased risk of infection as a result of visiting the hospital for treatment.

Inconsistent data exist regarding the diagnostic value of acanthosis nigricans (AN) or skin tags as clinical markers for obesity or diabetes. In an outpatient department-based prospective study, we designed a scoring for AN severity (SCANS) to evaluate AN and skin tags, their correlation with obesity or diabetes. Quantification of AN in six anatomic sites, in consideration of the affected skin surface areas, texture changes, number of skin tags, leads to a total severity score between 0 and 46.

Morphea is an inflammatory connective tissue disorder, which is characterized by sclerosis in skin and subcutaneous tissues with a chronic progress. The oxidative stress in pathogenesis of sclerosing diseases was proposed in several studies with conflicting results. To explore the tissue expressions of Glutathione S transferase (GST) isoenzymes in patients with morphea and compare these expressions with healthy controls.
