In order to obtain full informed consent for medical treatments, it is imperative to provide patients of diverse ethnic backgrounds with all relevant information. Since the pig is considered an impure animal in Judaism, Jewish patients may wish to be informed of porcine-derived substances used in treating. The present study is the first to explore the level of knowledge of Jewish participants as to whether the medical use of pig is permitted by their religion, and the extent to which they believe it should be permitted.

The pathophysiology of preterm labor and parturition is not fully known, although it is probably related to inflammation and placental senescence. In Islam, religious directives regarding death are derived from the Quran and Islamic tradition, but there is a variety of death rituals and practices, lived by Muslims across contexts and geographies. This narrative study explored the dynamics of death and bereavement resulting from COVID-19 death among religious Muslims in Israel. Narrative interviews were conducted with 32 religious Muslims ages 73-85.

The present study aimed to explore whether lesbian women's preferences for a sperm donor or a long-term mate show a pattern similar to those of heterosexual women. Three hundred and eighty-three donor insemination patients, of whom 278 were heterosexual and 105 were lesbian, completed a questionnaire comprising a series of 35 traits and rated the importance of each trait in a sperm donor and again in a long term mate. Results showed that traits relating to socioeconomic status, genetic background and general health, physical appearance, and personality were rated by lesbian women as more important in a long-term mate than in a sperm donor.

The diverse benefits of mindfulness as a therapeutic tool have been widely explored. This longitudinal study, employing a mixed-methods explanatory design, explored the power of art to express aspects of one's inner world using the joint drawing technique, which allows for observation and treatment of implicit representations of relationships. At Time 1 (T1, 1977-1978), 200 adolescents created a joint drawing with either a good friend or with a classmate who was not a friend and filled out the Intimate Friendship Scale (IFS) in relation to their best friend. In 2014 (T2), 36 women and 21 men from the original cohort completed the IFS with regard to a good friend and with regard to their spouse.

Introduction: We developed and validated an abbreviated Digital Sleep Questionnaire (DSQ) to identify common societal sleep disturbances including insomnia, delayed sleep phase syndrome (DSPS), insufficient sleep syndrome (ISS), and risk for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).
Methods: The DSQ was administered to 3799 community volunteers, of which 2113 were eligible and consented to the study. Of those, 247 were interviewed by expert sleep physicians, who diagnosed ≤2 sleep disorders.

Willingness to donate organs is contingent upon knowledge about and attitude toward organ donation. In order to explore differences between members of the three monotheistic religions: Christianity, Islam, and Judaism, a nation-wide survey was conducted in Israel.
