Initial transthoracic biopsy was non-specific, but thoracoscopic biopsy revealed necrotising granulomatous disease caused by pneumonia (PJP). The patient, initially treated with trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, was switched to atovaquone due to gastrointestinal intolerance.

Introduction: Although long-term survival in patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) is limited, treatments for third-line and later treatment are now recommended. We describe a patient who achieved long-term survival when they received third-line treatment with trifluridine/tipiracil (FTD/TPI).
Case Presentation: The woman who was 52 years old at diagnosis of adenocarcinoma of the right colon (T3/N0/M1) with metastases to the lung, liver, ovary, and other soft tissues received first-line fluoropyrimidine-based chemotherapy (FOLFOX/FOLFIRI plus bevacizumab) intermittently for approximately 8.

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis is an aging-related, chronic lung disease, with unclear pathogenesis and no effective treatment. One of the triggering factors in cell aging is oxidative stress and it is known to have a role in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. In this paper, the protective effect of the E-CG-01 (3,4-lacto-cycloastragenol) molecule in terms of its antioxidant properties was evaluated in the bleomycin induced mice lung fibrosis model.

Purpose: Late diagnosis is associated with high mortality rates in acute pulmonary embolism (PE), so early diagnosis and risk assessment are crucial. We aim to evaluate computed tomography pulmonary angiography measurements to identify relationships with 30-day mortality in patients with pulmonary embolism. This study investigated the utility of computed tomography pulmonary angiography (CTPA) measures in determining 30-day PE-related mortality and identified various echocardiographic, demographic, and clinical variables that were independently associated with short-term mortality in patients with acute PE.
