Gynecologic brachytherapy is a form of cancer treatment in which radioactive sources are placed into the pelvic organs via specialized applicators. Traditional low-dose-rate (LDR) brachytherapy has been performed over several days in a hospital setting. We retrospectively reviewed the records of patients over 90 years of age who underwent alimentary tract surgery between 1994 and 2002 at a community teaching hospital.
