Purpose: Preoperative oral carbohydrate loading is a component of enhanced recovery after surgery protocols. The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of preoperative oral carbohydrate loading on postoperative clinical outcomes in spinal surgery patients.

Design: This is a prospective case-control study.

A Retrospective Analysis of 83 Patients with Testicular Mass Who Underwent Testis-Sparing Surgery: The Eurasian Uro-oncology Association Multicenter Study.

Introduction: Herein, we analyzed the histopathological, oncological and functional outcomes of testis-sparing surgery (TSS) in patients with distinct risk for testicular cancer.

Methods: This is a multicenter retrospective study on consecutive patients who underwent TSS. Patients were categorized in high- or low-risk testicular germ cell tumor (TGCT) according to the presence/absence of features compatible with testicular dysgenesis syndrome.

Background and aim Sarcoidosis is a multisystem inflammatory disease of unknown aetiology. Purpose: To evaluate the clinical results of arthroscopic repair and open Ahlgren-Larsson method in patients with chronic lateral ankle instability.

Methods: We retrospectively evaluated 60 patients who were operated in our clinic between 2010 and 2018 with the diagnosis of chronic lateral ankle instability. Preoperative and postoperative clinical evaluations were performed with AOFAS ankle-hindfoot score, FAOS, and VAS scores.

Background: Long head of biceps tendon (LHBT) instability is an important source of pain and disability for the shoulder. Supraspinatus and subscapularis tendons contribute to the formation of the biceps pulley system, which maintains biceps stability during shoulder movements. In this study, we compared the weight of the prostate specimen removed after robotic radical prostatectomy with the prostate weight measured pre-operatively by four different imaging modalities. Pre-operative prostate weight before robotic radical prostatectomy was measured by Transabdominal Ultrasonography (TAUS), Transrectal Ultrasonography (TRUS), Abdominal Tomography (CT) and MultiparametricProstate Magnetic Resonance imaging (mpMRI). One of the most important causes of varicocele-related infertility is oxidative stress (OS). One of the markers considered as an indicator of OS is thiol-disulphide homeostasis (TDH). Based on the hypothesis that OS should decrease after varicocelectomy in the light of this information, in our current study, we investigated the relationship between TDH levels and sperm parameters.

Complete blood count and penile colour doppler ultrasonography findings in erectile dysfunction: Is there a relationship?

The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between penile colour doppler ultrasonography (PCDUS) and complete blood count parameters in patients with erectile dysfunction (ED). The data of the patients who applied to our outpatient clinic with ED (IIEF-5 score <22 or IIEF-EF score <26) between January 2007 and May 2017 were retrospectively analysed. The patients who had available PCDUS results and complete blood count (CBC) values were included in the study.

The frequency and predictors of persistent amenorrhea in premenopausal women with colorectal cancer who received adjuvant chemotherapy.

The purpose of this study was to identify the frequency of chemotherapy-induced amenorrhea and associated factors thereof in premenopausal female patients diagnosed with colon cancer. Premenopausal female patients under the age of 50 years who were diagnosed with stages I, II, and III colon cancer were included. A questionnaire surveying personal history including menarche, comorbidities, drugs, other clinical features, and menstrual history during and after completion of chemotherapy was filled by the patients during outpatient visits.

Detection of cholesteatoma: High-resolution DWI using RS-EPI and parallel imaging at 3 tesla.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of RS-EPI-DWI in the detection of cholesteatoma and to compare with single-shot echo-planar DWI (SS-EPI-DWI). Diffusion-weighted and apparent diffusion-coefficient (ADC) images were obtained using RS-EPI and SS-EPI techniques in 30 patients. Presence of cholesteatoma (3 point scale), amount of artefacts (4 point scale), visibility (4 point scale), and ADC values of the lesions were assessed.

Renal cell cancer: overview of the current therapeutic landscape.

Introduction: The last decade has witnessed dramatic improvements in the diagnosis, classification and treatment of renal cell cancer (RCC). Besides improvements in surgical techniques in early stages, introduction of novel targeted agents has resulted in improved outcomes in advanced RCC for which no effective treatment existed until recently.

Patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) generally require second-line treatment although their prognosis is poor. In this multicenter study, we aimed to detect the characteristics related to patients and disease that can predict the response to second-line treatments in advanced NSCLC. Data of 904 patients who have progressed after receiving first-line platinum-based chemotherapy in 11 centers with the diagnosis of stage IIIB and IV NSCLC and who were evaluated for second-line treatment were retrospectively analyzed.

Synchronous primary carcinoma in 5 different organs of a female genital tract: an unusual case and review of the literature.

The occurrence of double simultaneous primary cancers of the female reproductive tract is a common event. However, the occurrence of synchronous primary quadruple gynecologic malignancies is extremely rare. In this report, the clinical and pathological findings of a 35-year-old female patient with synchronous primary gynecologic cancers regarding papillary serous carcinoma of the left ovary, microinvasive carcinoma in situ of the left and right uterine tubes, endometrial intraepithelial carcinoma of the endometrium, and endocervical carcinoma in situ of the uterine cervix were presented.
