Eco-friendly Sn-based perovskites show significant potential for high-performance second near-infrared window light-emitting diodes (900 nm - 1700 nm). Nevertheless, achieving efficient and stable Sn-based perovskite second near-infrared window light-emitting diodes remains challenging due to the propensity of Sn to oxidize, resulting in detrimental Sn-induced defects and compromised device performance. Here, we present a targeted strategy to eliminate Sn-induced defects through moisture-triggered hydrolysis of tin tetrahalide, without degrading Sn in the CsSnI film.

Three cobalt-based metal-organic framework (MOF)-derived catalysts were developed for photothermal hydrogen production via ammonia decomposition. The selected MOFs were from distinct families, featuring carboxylate and imidazole linkers, and diverse in terms of porosity. The resulting catalysts consisted of uniform and homogeneously dispersed cobalt nanoparticles embedded within a carbon matrix.

Due to their ability to handle discontinuous images while having a well-understood behavior, regularizations with total variation (TV) and total generalized variation (TGV) are some of the best-known methods in image denoising. However, like other variational models including a fidelity term, they crucially depend on the choice of their tuning parameters. A remedy is to choose these automatically through multilevel approaches, for example by optimizing performance on noisy/clean image pairs.

Rationale: The mechanism underlying dopant-assisted atmospheric pressure photoionization's (APPI) formation of ions is unclear and still under debate for many chemical classes. In this study, we reexamined the gas-phase reaction mechanisms responsible for the generation of [M-H] precursor ions, resulting from the loss of a single hydrogen atom, in a series of N-alkyl-substituted thieno[3,4-c]-pyrrole-4,6-dione (TPD) derivatives.
Methods: Atmospheric pressure photoionization combined with higher order MS/MS using high-resolution mass spectrometry (APPI-HR-CID-MS) and electronic structure calculations using density functional theory were used to determine the chemical structure of observed [M-H] ions.
Pangenomes are collections of annotated genome sequences of multiple individuals of a species. The structural variants uncovered by these datasets are a major asset to genetic analysis in crop plants. Here we report a pangenome of barley comprising long-read sequence assemblies of 76 wild and domesticated genomes and short-read sequence data of 1,315 genotypes.

Microbiome restoration using beneficial microorganisms for corals (BMCs) comprise a promising strategy to help corals cope with anthropogenic stressors. However, there is limited knowledge on the uptake of BMCs by nontarget animals, especially sponges. This study explores whether sponges can acquire BMCs upon direct application and whether inoculations affect sponge health.

This study aimed to optimize mesalamine (MES)-nanoparticles (NPs) using Box Behnken Design and investigate itsantioxidant potential in colon drug targeting. The formulation was prepared using oil/water (O/W) emulsion solvent evaporation technique for time dependent colonic delivery. The optimal formulation with the following parameters composition was selected: polymer concentration (% w/w) (A) = 0.

Symbiotic marine invertebrates can be small, hidden or difficult to find, hampering the understanding of their distribution and ecological roles. is a polychaete inhabiting the gorgonian , where it lives in high densities within the host's coenenchyme and occupies burrows formed by host tissue near coral polyps. This study provides the first records of since its description in 1956, from colonies of Anthogorgiidae in southern Japan.

Mycobacteria is a diverse genus that includes both innocuous environmental species and serious pathogens like Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Mycobacterium leprae, and Mycobacterium ulcerans, the causative agents of tuberculosis, leprosy, and Buruli ulcer, respectively. This study focuses on Mycobacterium marinum, a closely related species known for its larger genome and ability to infect ectothermic species and cooler human extremities. Utilizing whole-genome sequencing, we conducted a comprehensive pan-genome analysis of 100 M.

Membranes with specific pore sizes are widely used in molecular separation, ion transport, and energy conversion. However, the molecular understanding of structure-property performance in membrane science has been an urgent and long-standing problem. A promising but challenging solution lies in the fine-tuning of the membrane microstructure and properties to control membrane performance.

This paper is a call to action. By publishing concurrently across journals like an emergency bulletin, we are not merely making a plea for awareness about climate change. Instead, we are demanding immediate, tangible steps that harness the power of microbiology and the expertise of researchers and policymakers to safeguard the planet for future generations.

Pluripotent-stem-cell-derived blastocyst-like structures (blastoids) offer insights into early human embryogenesis (5-10 days post-fertilization). The similarity between blastoids and human blastocysts remains uncertain. To investigate, we evaluated single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNAseq) data from seven blastoid models, comparing them to peri-implantation blastocysts.

In planar superconducting circuits, decoherence due to materials imperfections, especially two-level-system (TLS) defects at different interfaces, is a primary hurdle for advancing quantum computing and sensing applications. Traditional methods for mitigating TLS loss, such as etching oxide layers at metal and substrate interfaces, have proven to be inadequate due to the persistent challenge of oxide regrowth. In this work, we introduce a novel approach that employs molecular self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) to chemically bind at different interfaces of superconducting circuits.

LIM proteins are named after the initials of three proteins Lin-11, Isl-1, and MEC-3, which belong to a class of transcription factors that play an important role in the developmental regulation of eukaryotes and are also involved in a variety of life processes, including gene transcription, the construction of the cytoskeleton, signal transduction, and metabolic regulation. Plant LIM proteins have been shown to regulate actin bundling in different cells, but their role in immunity remains elusive. Mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) are a family of conserved serine/threonine protein kinases that link upstream receptors to their downstream targets.

Thuwalamides A-E (1, 3, 5, 6 and 8), previously undescribed polychlorinated amides, along with ten previously reported related compounds (2, 4, 7 and 9-15), were isolated from the organic extract of the marine sponge Lamellodysidea herbacea (Keller), collected off the village of Thuwal in the Red Sea at Saudi Arabia. The structures of the isolated compounds have been determined through extensive analysis of their NMR and MS data, while their absolute stereochemistry was unequivocally established via single crystal X-ray diffraction. Additionally, the absolute stereochemistry of the previously reported compounds 2 and 4, whose configuration was not determined, has also been established using single-crystal X-ray crystallographic analysis.
