The Effect of Foot Care Education for Patients with Diabetes on Knowledge, Self-Efficacy and Behavior: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to synthesize randomized controlled trials on the impact of foot care education on knowledge, self-efficacy and behavior in patients with diabetes. A search was made using PubMed, Web of Science, Science Direct, Google Scholar, YOK National Thesis Center and Google Scholar electronic databases for studies published between March 2003-January 2022. The search medical subject headings (MeSH) terms were diabetic foot, knowledge, self-efficacy, and behavior.

The effect of platelet-rich fibrin on wound healing following strabismus surgery.

Purpose: To investigate the effect of platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) on post-operative wound healing following strabismus surgery in a rabbit model.

Methods: Nine New Zealand white rabbits were involved in the study. One of these nine rabbits was kept in control without having any operation.

Background: This study aimed to investigate the retinal vascular reactivity (RVR) of the macular and peripapillary capillary network in response to ozonated autohemotherapy (AHT) using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA).

Methods: This was a single-centre prospective study. All participants that were planned to have a combination of major and minor ozone AHT underwent a complete ocular examination and OCTA imaging before and after the ozone AHT.

Aim: Intramedullary nailing (IMN) is widely accepted as the treatment of choice for tibial fractures, and a suprapatellar method has been described to prevent common problems associated with the typical infrapatellar IMN technique, such as anterior knee pain. However, in the suprapatellar technique, injury to intra-articular structures is a concern. The aim of this study was to compare the clinical and radiological results of suprapatellar and infrapatellar IMN in terms of union, complications, and function.

Introduction: In this study, we aimed to present three different methods for symptomatic aberrant right subclavian artery (ARSA) surgery.

Methods: We identified 11 consecutive adult patients undergoing symptomatic and/or aneurysmal ARSA repair between January 2016 and December 2020. Symptoms were dysphagia (n=8) and dyspnea + dysphagia (n=3).

Floating phalanx; simultaneous double dislocation of the interphalangeal joint in a finger: A case report and literature review.

Isolated proximal and distal interphalangeal joint (DIPJ) dislocations are widely seen as a result of sporting injuries and major trauma. The combination of dorsal dislocation of the DIPJ in the same finger concomitant to traumatic dorsal dislocation of the proximal interphalangeal joint (PIPJ) is a rarely seen injury. The case is, here, presented of a 65-year-old female patient with proximal and DIPJ dislocation of the right-hand ring finger accompanied by volar and dorsal plate injuries in the proximal and distal joints.

Evaluation of Intermountain Risk Score for Short- and Long-Term Mortality in ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction Patients.

The aim of this study was to examine the Intermountain Risk Score (IMRS) for short- and long-term mortality in ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients and compare it with the well-known risk scores, such as the Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction (TIMI) and the Global Registry of Acute Coronary Events (GRACE). In this retrospective and cross-sectional study, 1057 consecutive patients with STEMI were evaluated. The end-points of the study were short- and long-term mortality.

Use of the derived isohemagglutinin parameter to predict patients with COVID-19 in need of an intensive care unit.

Predicting which patients will need the intensive care unit (ICU) due to severe COVID-19 is critical in terms of disease treatment. In this study, the use of the derived isohemagglutinin (dIH) parameter calculated from isohemagglutinin (IH) values and neutrophil to lymphocyte ratios for prediction of clinical care (CLC), ICU admission and mortality status was investigated for the morbidity and mortality of COVID-19. The data of approximately 21,500 patients admitted to the hospital with the suspicion of COVID-19 were scanned retrospectively.

Middle-term outcomes in renal transplant recipients with COVID-19: a national, multicenter, controlled study.

Background: In this study, we evaluated 3-month clinical outcomes of kidney transplant recipients (KTR) recovering from COVID-19 and compared them with a control group.

Method: The primary endpoint was death in the third month. Secondary endpoints were ongoing respiratory symptoms, need for home oxygen therapy, rehospitalization for any reason, lower respiratory tract infection, urinary tract infection, biopsy-proven acute rejection, venous/arterial thromboembolic event, cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection/disease and BK viruria/viremia at 3 months.

Purpose In this study, it was aimed to determine the quality and accuracy of the videos on YouTube about lateral epicondylitis. Methods The first 100 videos were included in the study by typing the keyword "lateral epicondylitis" in the YouTube search tab without using any filters. The video power index (VPI) was used to evaluate the popularity of the videos, and the global quality score (GQS), Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), and DISCERN scoring systems were used to evaluate the quality.

The Longitudinal Evolution of Post-COVID-19 Outcomes Among Hemodialysis Patients in Turkey.

Methaemoglobinaemia in pregnancy with chronic kidney disease an uncommon case: A case report.

The development of methaemoglobinaemia due to prilocaine, which is used for local anaesthesia, is a rare, life-threatening, but well-known side effect. The development of this side-effect in a pregnant patient with chronic kidney disease can lead to foetal distress. The case presented here is of a 21-year old pregnant female with chronic kidney disease who required haemodialysis in the 22nd week of pregnancy due to the progression to end-stage kidney disease.

Risk factors for prolonged nucleic acid conversion time in patients with COVID-19.

Objectives: The time for PCR positivity to negativity is defined as nucleic acid conversion time (NCT) and is very important in terminating the isolation of patients and determining infectiousness in patients with COVID-19. Effect of the number of parity on right heart chamber quantification.

Introduction: Pregnancy is a process that can cause several physiologic changes to the cardiovascular system such as ventricular hypertrophy and dilation of cardiac chambers. Although there are studies about pregnancy-related changes in echocardiographic examination; there is no data about the long-term effects of parity on these alterations. Therefore, we evaluated the long-term effect of pregnancy on right ventricular (RV) dilation and RV hypertrophy and their relation to the parity number.

Prognostic value of serum albumin for long-term mortality in patients with dual-chamber permanent pacemakers.

This investigation aims to examine the prognostic utility of albumin concentrations for long-term all-cause mortality in patients undergoing permanent pacemaker implantation. A total of 1798 patients who received permanent pacemaker implantation were divided into quartiles according to serum albumin concentrations. The significance of albumin in predicting long-term mortality was compared in these quartiles.
