Background And Purpose: We know that treatment algorithms have changed in Multiple Sclerosis (MS) practice during the pandemic. In this study, we aimed to investigate whether there was a change in the patient population for ocrelizumab (OCR) treatment during the pandemic period, the treatment compliance of the patients, and the course of the Coronavirus Disease-19 (COVID-19) disease in the patients who received OCR.
Methods: Our study was designed as a survey study.

Objective: While several inflammatory markers are known to increase in familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) disease cases, the need remains for diagnostic tests specific for FMF that monitor inflammatory activity. We aimed to investigate resistin and calprotectin levels during both attack and attack-free periods of FMF disease and evaluate their use as novel biomarkers of inflammation in patients with FMF.
Materials And Methods: This cross-sectional study included 68 male patients diagnosed with FMF and 20 healthy individuals as controls.

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate whether platelet parameters and pro-inflammatory cytokines associated with platelet activation could be surrogate markers of the diabetic retinopathy stages in type 2 diabetic patients.
Methods: This prospective case-control study included 108 type 2 diabetes mellitus patients and 48 healthy controls. After fundoscopic examination, patients were divided into three groups: no retinopathy, nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy, or proliferative retinopathy.

Background: Nonalcoholic fatty liver is one of the most common forms of liver disease and role of microRNAs (miRNAs) on this illness is currently unclear. It was aimed to evaluate the predictive role of circulating miR-33a and mir-200c on high fructose corn syrup (HFCS)-induced fatty liver and vitamin D3 supplementation-related hepatic changes.
Methods: Twenty-four rats were randomized into three groups: sham (n = 8), experimental fatty liver group (n = 8), and fatty liver + vitamin D3 supplementation group (n = 8).

Background: While chloride (Cl) is the most abundant anion in the serum, it is unfortunately one of the most commonly disregarded laboratory test results routinely drawn upon admission into the medical intensive care unit (MICU). We aimed to investigate the relation between in-hospital mortality, different pathologies requiring admission to the MICU, serum Cl levels, and other biochemical tests in a tertiary center.
Methods: The prospective study included data from 373 patients admitted to the ICU of a tertiary care center between 2017 and 2019.

Objective: The main objectives of this investigation were to determine whether there were any relationships between corrected cardiac-electrophysiological balance value and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale scores at admission and discharge in patients with acute ischemic stroke and to assess whether cardiac-electrophysiological balance value was an independent predictor of high National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale scores (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score ≥5).
Methods: In this retrospective and observational study, 231 consecutive adult patients with acute ischemic stroke were evaluated. The cardiac-electrophysiological balance value was obtained by dividing the corrected QT interval by the QRS duration measured from surface electrocardiography.

Objective: Diagnostic ureterorenoscopy is used to identify upper tract urothelial cancer before radical nephro ureterectomy, especially for uncertain lesions in imaging modalities or urine cytology. However, diagnostic ureterorenoscopy can potentially cause intravesical tumor spillage and can increase intravesical recurrence rates. We aimed to investigate the impact of diagnostic ureterorenoscopy before radical nephroureterectomy, with and without biopsy, on intravesical recurrence rates of patients with upper tract urothelial cancer.

In this investigation, we aimed to explore the relationship between the triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index and the non-dipping blood pressure (BP) pattern in newly diagnosed hypertensive patients. In this retrospective study, 216 consecutive newly diagnosed hypertensive patients who had undergone 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure (ABPM) monitoring and had not received anti-hypertensive drugs were included. Non-dipping status was evaluated by a 24-h ABPM monitoring in all patients.

Background: Electrocardiographic parameters, such as P wave peak time (PWPT), P wave duration (PWD), and P wave amplitude in lead DI, have been utilized to assess left atrial anomalies linked to the development of atrial fibrillation (AF) in different cohort settings.
Objective: To compare electrocardiographic parameters, such as P waves, in predicting long-term AF risk in acute ischemic stroke cases.
Methods: The data of 231 consecutive acute ischemic stroke cases were retrospectively collected.

Background: Triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index, a reliable marker of insulin resistance, was associated with cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. This study aimed to evaluate the predictive value of TyG index for mortality in elderly non-diabetic patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI).
Methods: In total, 430 non-diabetic patients aged over 65 years with STEMI were consecutively included.

Objective: Increased inflammation is known to cause higher mortality and morbidity in autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD). At the same time, inflammation has been shown to contribute in chronic kidney disease (CKD) progression pathogenesis. Neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and mean platelet volume (MPV) have been lately found to be related with systemic inflammation.

Background: The aim of the study was to evaluate whether a new and successful treatment opportunity can be provided in acute pancreatitis and may prevent symptomatic treatments and show its effect through etiopathogenesis. Therefore, we want to investigate the efficacy of golimumab in an experimental rat model of cerulein-induced acute pancreatitis.
Methods: A total of 35 rats, including 7 rats in each group, were distributed into 5 groups (sham, acute pancreatitis, placebo, acute pancreatitis+golimumab 5 mg/kg, and acute pancreatitis+golimumab 10 mg/kg).

Objective: The purpose of this study was to explore the efficacy of the triglyceride glucose (TyG) index on in-hospital mortality in nondiabetic coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients with myocardial injury.
Methods: This was a retrospective study, which included 218 nondiabetic COVID-19 patients who had myocardial injury. The TyG index was derived using the following equation: log [serum triglycerides (mg/dL) ×fasting blood glucose (mg/dL)/2].

The aim of this investigation was to evaluate the predictive value of the TyG index for long-term MACEs in patients at high cardiovascular risk.
Methods: In total, 483 patients with high cardiovascular risk were included in this analysis.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the QT, QTc, and QTc dispersion changes that may occur with the use of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ), favipiravir, and moxifloxacin in combination or alone in COVID 19 patients.
Methods: This study was retrospectively conducted on 193 inpatients diagnosed with COVID-19. We divided the patients into four separate groups due to their medications as, group-1: favipiravir, group-2: favipiravir + HCQ, group-3: favipiravir + moxifloxacin, and group-4: favipiravir + moxifloxacin + HCQ.

Background: Scarless healing comprises the ultimate goal after an injury. Since tendon healing results in a fibrotic scar, an injured tendon can never regain the mechanical potential and strength of its uninjured form. A wide variety of studies focus on the tendon healing with an absent or minimal peritendinous adhesions.

In the last two decades, the existence of key oncogenic alterations, such as activating mutations or chromosomal reorganization, has become crucial in the advanced stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) treatment paradigm. Among these, anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) gene rearrangement is reported in 3-7% of NSCLC cases worldwide. In patients who respond to long-term ALK therapy, treatment duration is uncertain.
