Caseous mitral annulus calcification: A forgotten benign condition mimicking cardiac mass, a case report.

Key Clinical Message: Caseous mitral annulus calcification is a rare benign condition that can be misdiagnosed on echocardiography especially when it presents as a mass. This report highlights the contribution of cardiac MRI and computed tomography to the diagnosis through the case of a patient previously treated for breast cancer.

Abstract: We report the case of a patient, previously treated for breast cancer, in whom echocardiography suggested the diagnosis of a cardiac tumor due the presence of a mass on the posterior mitral annulus.

Sex-specificity in Surgical Stages of Lung Cancer in Young Adults.

Background: Young Patients with lung cancer represent a distinct subset of patients with this neoplasm. Young International studies show increased lung cancer rates in females, while the incidence in males continues to decline. There is evidence to suggest that this trend recurs in younger patients.

Rifampicin-induced acute tubulointerstitial nephritis during pulmonary tuberculosis treatment: A case report.

Drug-induced tubulointerstitial nephritis is an uncommon complication in patients on anti-tuberculosis therapy that can lead to permanent kidney damage. Rifampicin is the most offending drug. We report a case of a 41-years old man being treated for pulmonary tuberculosis and presenting with tubulointerstitial nephritis associated with rifampicin.

An intriguing case of a paravertebral extramedullary erythropoiesis presenting as tumor-mimicking lesion in a patient with eosinophilia with FIP1L1-PDGFRA rearrangement.

Extramedullary hematopoiesis in the posterior mediastinum is rare. Our case interested a 28-year-old man with a history of eosinophilia with FIP1L1-PDGFRA fusion gene who had a mediastinal mass surgically excised. Pathological examination concluded to an extramedullary erythropoiesis.

Spindle cell hemangioma of the lung: An unusual presentation.

Spindle cell hemangioma (SCH) is a benign vascular tumour, first identified by Weiss and Enzinger in 1986. Habitually, the SCH affects almost exclusively the dermis and subcutaneous tissues of distal extremities. So far, only 2 cases have been described in the lung.

Cystic adventitial disease of the popliteal artery with unusual spontaneous regression: A case report with literature review.

This report highlights the case of cystic adventitial disease of the left popliteal artery in a 45-year-old male patient. Imaging modalities confirmed the diagnosis and high resolution MRI found a cystic connection to the adjacent knee joint. The evolution was unusual with spontaneous regression of the symptoms.

Primary synovial sarcoma of the mediastinum: a poor prognosis in a 14-year-old girl.

Synovial sarcoma is a soft tissue sarcoma. Its occurrence as a primary mediastinal neoplasm is very rare. We report a case of mediastinal synovial sarcoma in a 14-year-old girl with exertive dyspnoea at presentation.

Desmoid tumour of the chest wall in a patient with a previous aortocoronary bypass: a complication or a coincidence?

Desmoid tumour is an uncommon, locally invasive non-metastasizing neoplastic lesion. The pathogenesis of this tumour is unclear and its treatment is controversial. In this paper, the authors report a new case of chest wall desmoid tumour in a 67-year-old man previously operated by sternotomy for a triple aortocoronary bypass.
