A batch system was applied to study the adsorption of three dyes (methyl violet, eriochrom black T and helianthin) from aqueous solution onto β-cyclodextrin polymer, synthesized by using citric acid as a cross linking agent. This polymer lets to adsorb only methyl violet for this effect, several operator variables was checked only with this kind of dye, the removal efficiently increases with increase in adsorbent amount; elevation of temperature lets also to improve the dye adsorption; ionic strength has not effect on dye adsorption process, for the pH we have remarked a slight decrease in removal efficiently with increasing of pH values. Equilibrium study was investigated by applying three models (Langumir, Frendlich and Temkin), results show that Langumir isotherm is the appropriate model.

The long-term biodistribution of non-biodegradable microstructures or nanostructures used in vaccinations is widely unknown. This is the case for aluminum oxyhydroxide, the most widely used vaccine adjuvant, which is a nanocrystalline compound that spontaneously forms nanoprecipitates. Although generally well-tolerated, aluminum oxyhydroxide is detected in macrophages a long time after vaccination in individuals predisposed to the development of systemic and neurological aspects of the autoimmune (inflammatory) syndrome induced by modified adjuvant.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the combined effect, acacia gum(AG)/ hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (HPMC), on biopharmaceutical performances of floating tablets of metformin hydrochloride (MTH) prepared by thermoplastic granulation using stearic acid. We have prepared the matrixes using AG/HPMC as a polymer combination. This combination of polymers which represents 15% of the total mass of tablet was used at various ratios 3:1, 1:1, 1:3, with two viscosity grade of HPMC (k15M and k100M).

Background: Vitamin E is the major lipid-soluble antioxidant, however, its potent effect is limited by its poor solubility.
Objective: The present study aimed to investigate whether polyethylene glycol 6000 (PEG) can enhance Vitamin E solubility and help protect sperm motility and against oxidative status.
Materials And Methods: Sperm groups consisted of the control aliquot diluted with Tris buffer and aliquots treated with Tris buffer containing polyethylene glycol (PEG), vitamin E (Vit E) or vitamin E- PEG complex (PEG/Vit E).

Background: Rosmarinus officinalis essential oil (Rom) has been reported recently to be of interest for use in sperm cryopreservation. However, related to its lipophilic characteristics, encapsulation in cyclodextrin could enhance Rom positive effects by increasing its solubility in sperm extenders.
Objective: To compare the effect of Rom preloaded in hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin (Rom-cd) to Rom alone (Rom) on ram sperm conserved at 4°C.

Missing data is a very frequent problem in climatology, it influences on the quality of results that will afford in hydrological studies, as well as water resources management. This paper proposes a new imputation algorithm, based on the optimization of some regression methods, which are hot deck, k-nearest-neighbors imputation, weighted k-nearest-neighbors imputation, multiple imputation, linear regression and simple average method. The choice of these methods was justified by qualitative and quantitative statistical tests analysis.

We present herein the preparation of novel polymer inclusion membranes (PIMs) containing insoluble β-CD polymer as a carrier, polyvinyl chloride as a base polymer, and dibuthylphtalate (DBP) as a plasticizer in varying proportions. The prepared PIMs can be obtained by a simple, fast, and high-yield preparation process. Physicochemical characterizations of such membranes occurred in a homogeneous structure.

Vitamin E is a potent molecule, especially when loaded in cyclodextrin, in modulating oxidative stress during the freeze-thawing process. The present study aimed to investigate the effect of different concentrations of cyclodextrin-vitamin E complex (CD-Vit E) on cryopreserved ram sperm. Ejaculates collected from five adult rams were pooled and divided into four aliquots.

Background: During cryopreservation sperm cells suffer from two major deleterious impacts: oxidative stress and cold shock.
Objective: To investigate in bovine species the benefit of cholesterol and vitamin E, both loaded in cyclodextrins, as a double protection against oxidative stress and cold shock.
Materials And Methods: Semen was collected from nine mature bulls using an artificial vagina and each ejaculate was split into four equal aliquots.

In past decades, a multitude of analytical methods for measuring antioxidant activity of plant extracts has been developed. However, when using methods to determine hemoglobin released from human erythrocytes treated with ginger extracts, we found hemoglobin concentrations were significantly higher than in untreated control samples. This suggests in the presence of antioxidants that measuring hemoglobin alone is not sufficient to determine hemolysis.

Sublingual drug delivery is an interesting route for drug having significant hepatic first-pass metabolism or requiring rapid pharmacological effect as for patients suffering from swallowing difficulties, nausea or vomiting. Sublingual absorption could however be limited by the kinetic of drug dissolution. This study evaluated influences of cyclodextrins (β-CD or HP-β-CD) and their different inclusion process (spray-drying or freeze-drying) on the drug dissolution kinetic of solid dispersions in poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG, Mw 6000Da) of piroxicam, used as poor hydrosoluble drug model.

Phytochemicals, such as phenolic compounds, are of great interest due to their health-benefitting antioxidant properties and possible protection against inflammation, cardiovascular diseases and certain types of cancer. Maximum retention of these phytochemicals during extraction requires optimised process parameter conditions. A microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) method was investigated for extraction of total phenolics from Myrtus communis leaves.
