Drought stress represents a major constraint with significant impacts on wheat crop globally. The use of plant growth-promoting bacteria (PGPB) has emerged as a promising strategy to alleviate the detrimental impacts of water stress and enhance plant development. We investigated 24 strains from diverse ecosystems, assessed for PGP traits and tolerance ability to abiotic stresses (drought, salinity, temperature, pH, heavy metals, pollutants, herbicides, and fungicides).

Analysis of the change in groundwater used as a drinking and irrigation water source is of critical importance in terms of monitoring aquifers, planning water resources, energy production, combating climate change, and agricultural production. Therefore, it is necessary to model groundwater level (GWL) fluctuations to monitor and predict groundwater storage. Artificial intelligence-based models in water resource management have become prevalent due to their proven success in hydrological studies.

Background: Developing more potent antibacterial agents is one of the most important tasks of scientists in the health field due to the problem of antibiotic resistance. Among the antibiotic targets, we mention MurA (UDP-N-Acetylglucosamine Enolpyruvyl Transferase), which is a key enzyme of peptidoglycan biosynthesis of the bacterial cell wall.
Objective: Our objective was to search for new inhibitors of the bacterial enzyme MurA by docking the analogues of its inhibitor T6361, a derivative of 5-sulfonoxy-anthranilic acid.
This panel dataset contains information collected from five distinct sources on the impact of democracy and political stability on economic growth in 15 emerging countries in the MENA region from 1983 to 2022. The dataset includes information about GDP per capita, inflation, trade, population growth, government expenditure, participatory democracy, deliberative democracy, egalitarian democracy, institutionalized autocracy, and political stability. Data analysis was carried out utilizing R statistical software to ensure the accuracy of the data by imputing missing data using the monotone REG approach, allowing future researchers to investigate the linkage between political factors and growth in various scenarios.

Streamflow estimation is important in hydrology, especially in drought and flood-prone areas. Accurate estimation of streamflow values is crucial for the sustainable management of water resources, the development of early warning systems for disasters, and for various applications such as irrigation, hydropower production, dam sizing, and siltation management. This study developed the ANN algorithm by optimizing with an artificial bee colony (ABC).

The present research reexamines the validity of the EKC hypothesis in the top three polluted nations in Africa, Algeria, Egypt, and South Africa, over the period 1970-2020. The central idea of the research is to reexamine the EKC hypothesis by incorporating the ARMEY curve linking government spending and GDP into the Kuznets curve, as suggested by Işık et al. Environ Sci Pollut Res 29(11):16472-16483, (2022) and Ongan et al.

Twenty-five lactic acid bacterial (LAB) strains have been isolated from traditional goat butter and three types of cheese (dry Klila, frech Klila, and Bouhezza) and evaluated for technological abilities, probiotic properties, and potentials as starter cultures. The twenty-five LAB strains comprised eight strains belonging to Lactobacillus, four strains belonging to Lactococcus, eleven strains belonging to Enterococcus, and two strains belonging to Leuconostoc. A non-hierarchical cluster analysis was performed in order to select the performing strains.

In this paper, a novel epidemiological model describing the evolution of tuberculosis in a human population is proposed. This model is of the form SEIR, where S stands for Susceptible people, E for Exposed (infected but not yet infectious) people, I for Infectious people, and R for Recovered people. The main characteristic of this model inspired from the disease biology and some realistic hypothesis is that the treatment is administered not only to infectious but also to exposed people.

The increasing resistance of bacteria to antibacterial therapy poses an enormous health problem, it renders the development of new antibacterial agents with novel mechanism of action an urgent need. Peptide deformylase, a metalloenzyme which catalytically removes N-formyl group from N-terminal methionine of newly synthesized polypeptides, is an important target in antibacterial drug discovery. In this study, we report the structure-based virtual screening of ZINC database in order to discover potential hits as bacterial peptide deformylase enzyme inhibitors with more affinity as compared to GSK1322322, previously known inhibitor.
