Background: Studies show that an impaired maternal-fetal environment (iMFE) increases the mortality risk in children with single-ventricle congenital heart defects (CHDs). We investigated the impact of an iMFE on death in children with various surgically corrected CHDs.

Methods And Results: In this nationwide register-based study, we examined the association between an iMFE (including preeclampsia, gestational hypertension, gestational diabetes, maternal smoking during pregnancy) and death in a large cohort of children with surgically corrected CHDs in Denmark (1994-2018).

Altered Cerebral Microstructure in Adults With Atrial Septal Defect and Ventricular Septal Defect Repaired in Childhood.

Background Delayed brain development, brain injury, and neurodevelopmental disabilities are commonly observed in infants operated for complex congenital heart defect. Our previous findings of poorer neurodevelopmental outcomes in individuals operated for simple congenital heart defects calls for further etiological clarification. Hence, we examined the microstructural tissue composition in cerebral cortex and subcortical structures in comparison to healthy controls and whether differences were associated with neurodevelopmental outcomes.

Renal Artery Stenting in Consecutive High-Risk Patients With Atherosclerotic Renovascular Disease: A Prospective 2-Center Cohort Study.

Background The aim of this study was to prospectively evaluate the effects of renal artery stenting in consecutive patients with severe atherosclerotic renal artery stenosis and high-risk clinical presentations as defined in a national protocol developed in 2015. A longitudinal study of follow-up activities after curative treatment for head and neck cancer.

Purpose: To test the hypothesis that head and neck cancer (HNC) patients are in need of specialized follow-up (FU). Functional outcome in sarcomas treated with limb-salvage surgery or amputation.

Purpose. In all patients treated at the Centre for Bone and Soft Tissue Sarcomas of Aarhus the functional outcome is prospectively evaluated by use of the Enneking system for the functional evaluation after surgical treatment of tumours of the musculoskeletal system.
