Purpose: Remote symptom monitoring of patients with cancer has previously shown potential for improving clinical outcomes. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of remote symptom monitoring in patients with lung cancer after palliative induction treatment.
Methods: In a Danish multicenter randomized controlled trial, patients were randomly assigned 1:1 to remote symptom monitoring (intervention arm) added to standard of care versus standard of care (control arm).

Background: Biological treatment failure is common in patients with ulcerative colitis (UC), but the predictive value of baseline histological activity is unknown.
Aims: We aimed to investigate the associations between baseline histological activity and outcomes after biological treatment in patients with UC.
Methods: Adult biological-naïve patients with UC (n = 150) were followed prospectively during biological treatment.

Study Question: Are there differences in psychosocial and physical wellbeing among women and male partners undergoing modified natural cycle (mNC) frozen embryo transfer (FET) in immediate compared to postponed cycles after ovarian stimulation (OS) and oocyte pick-up (OPU)?
Summary Answer: Significantly more women in the immediate group reported physical symptoms than women in the postponed group whilst fewer were emotionally affected by waiting time, although the latter difference lost statistical significance after adjustment for multiple testing.
What Is Known Already: Infertility and fertility treatment are known to cause psychosocial distress in women and couples longing for a child. The treatment may be long-term and delayed for various reasons, such as the elective postponement of FET after a fresh transfer without pregnancy or an elective freeze-all cycle, possibly further increasing the level of distress.

Although previous studies have established links between anxiety disorders, sexual dysfunctions, and sexual satisfaction, there is relatively little research on the specific factors associated with living with an anxiety disorder that might contribute to these sexual health disparities. This study assessed the associations between anxiety, cognitive distractions, biased expectancies, and 1) sexual dysfunction (DSM-5 diagnostic criteria) 2) associated distress, and 3) sexual satisfaction while considering the role of pharmacological treatment-related sexual side effects and comorbid depressive symptoms. A large clinical population ( = 207) of people with anxiety diagnoses seeking treatment at 11 outpatient anxiety clinics in Denmark participated.

Background: Even though antithrombotic therapy (ATT) probably has little or even negative effect on the well-being of patients with cancer near the end of life, it is often continued until death, possibly leading to excess bleeding complications, increased disease burden, reduced quality of life and higher healthcare costs.
Aim: To explore and describe European practice patterns and perspectives of healthcare professionals from different disciplines and specialties on ATT in the end-of-life care (EOLC) of patients with cancer.
Methods: We performed a two-week international cross-sectional survey study using flash-mob research methodology.

Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) is a multisystem disorder most often caused by pathogenic variants in genes that encode type I collagen. Type I collagen is abundant not only in bone but also in multiple tissues including skin, tendons, cornea, blood vessels and heart. Thus, OI can be expected to affect cardiovascular system, and there are numerous reports of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in people with OI.

Aims/hypothesis: A better understanding of the mechanisms underlying an elevated infection risk in individuals with type 2 diabetes is needed to guide risk stratification and prevention. We investigated the risk of infection in subgroups of individuals with type 2 diabetes according to indices of insulin sensitivity and beta cell function.
Methods: We classified 7265 individuals with recently diagnosed type 2 diabetes (median duration 1.

Introduction: Patients with pulmonary embolism (PE) experience impaired functional ability and reduced quality of life long after discharge from the hospital. However, there are no structured follow-up programmes in Denmark for these patients, and there is considerable variation in practice patterns of post-PE management. No studies have investigated the effectiveness of structured follow-up care models in patients with PE.

In pediatric orthopaedics, studies have shown that a significant percentage of parents use online search engines to find out more about the health condition of their children. Several studies have investigated the accuracy of the responses generated from these chatbots.

ESC Guidelines provide best practice, evidence-based recommendations for diagnosing and treating patients with cardiovascular diseases. It is not always possible for best practices to be followed, however, particularly in low-resource settings. To address this issue, a set of guideline-related documents were created to identify key priorities for users in these settings.

Purpose: The CDK4/6 inhibitor palbociclib inhibits cyclin A, which is overexpressed in endometrial cancer. Combining palbociclib with endocrine therapy improves efficacy in hormone receptor-positive breast cancer. We investigated palbociclib combined with endocrine therapy for estrogen receptor-positive advanced/recurrent endometrial cancer.

Background: Clinical studies have suggested that dysregulation of the neuropeptide Y (NPY) system may play a role in psychiatric disorders, including chronic stress. Meanwhile, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) has shown promise for stress-related maladies. However, no studies have explored whether MBSR can change plasma NPY concentration in stressed individuals.

Background: Thyroid hormones and sympathetic stimulation are needed for activating Brown adipose tissue (BAT) during cold exposure. Studies of human cold exposure have demonstrated both increased production and raised clearance of triiodothyronine (T3). Greenlandic hunters provide a unique model for evaluating metabolic effects of cold exposure.

Purpose: Myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) procedures from single photon emission computed tomography and positron emission tomography imaging have been registered in the Western Denmark Heart Registry (WDHR) since 2017 as a sub-registry (WDHR-MPI). The aim was to review the content, quality, and research potential of the WDHR-MPI and assess the completeness and validity of its key variables.
Patients And Methods: Using the Danish National Patient Registry (DNPR) as a reference, we calculated the completeness of procedure registration as the proportion of procedures registered in the WDHR-MPI from 2017 to 2021.

Background: Following the implementation of the fast-track protocol in total hip arthroplasty (THA), total knee arthroplasty (TKA), and unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA), the median length of stay (LOS) has been significantly reduced without an increase in readmissions. However, it is unclear if the reduction in LOS is at the expense of an increase in nonhome discharge. The aim of this study was to investigate the discharge destination among THA, TKA, and UKA patients.

Background: The guidelines for Advanced Life Support issued by the European Resuscitation Council recommend considering drug delivery through intraosseous access if intravenous access to the vascular bed is not feasible or unsuccessful. Emergency prehospital intraosseous cannulation may theoretically lead to an increased risk of long-term complications such as osteomyelitis, osteonecrosis, or compartment syndrome. Such complications have previously been reported in case reports or small sample case series.

Objectives: Accurate prevalence estimates of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) are important for numerous purposes including orphan drug designation. A key criterion for orphan drug designation is a disease prevalence of less than 5/10,000 persons. The objective is to apply and compare different methods of prevalence assessment.
