Flow cytometry characterization of antigen-specific polyfunctional T cells is a valuable tool to study adaptive immunity. Here, we present a protocol for flow cytometry immunophenotyping of human antigen-specific T cells by activation-induced marker (AIM) and Th1 cytokine detection. We describe steps for preparing peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) for stimulation followed by washing and staining PBMCs for flow cytometry.

Background: Balloon post-dilation (BPD) is a widely adopted strategy to optimize acute results of TAVI, with a positive impact on both paravalvular leak and mean gradients. We demonstrated the non-inferiority of a dexamethasone (DEX)-sparing (single-dose) regimen with NEPA, a netupitant/palonosetron fixed combination, for preventing chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) caused by cisplatin. This pre-planned exploratory analysis assessed the effect of the DEX-sparing regimen on a patient's food intake. Chemotherapy-naïve patients undergoing cisplatin (≥ 70 mg/m) were given NEPA and DEX (12 mg) on day 1 and randomized to receive either no further DEX (DEX1), or oral DEX (4 mg BID) on days 2-4 (DEX4).

In recent years, the exoscope has been proposed as an alternative to the microscope when a magnified view of the surgical field is required in spinal surgery. We present a case of a 52-year-old patient in which a meningioma in the upper cervical spine (C1-C2) was removed using a 4K-three-dimensional (3D) exoscope. The advantages of surgical removal of an intradural spinal tumor using an exoscope are illustrated, focusing mainly on vision quality and ergonomics.

Cavernous hemangioma, also known as cavernous vascular malformation (CVM), is the most common primary lesion of the orbit in adults. Primary Angiitis of the Central Nervous System (PACNS) is a rare form of idiopathic CNS vasculitis. Neuroimaging is often abnormal and characterized by multifocal brain lesions, but brain biopsy definitely confirms the diagnosis.
