Objectives: To clarify the impact of anti-U1RNP antibodies on the clinical features and prognosis of patients with SSc.
Methods: We conducted a monocentric case-control, retrospective, longitudinal study. For each patient with SSc and anti-U1RNP antibodies (SSc-RNP), one patient with mixed connective tissue disease (MCTD) and 2 SSc patients without anti-U1RNP antibodies (SSc-RNP) were matched for age, sex, and date of inclusion.

Background: The blood-brain barrier (BBB) is pivotal for the maintenance of brain homeostasis and it strictly regulates the cerebral transport of a wide range of endogenous compounds and drugs. While fasting is increasingly recognized as a potential therapeutic intervention in neurology and psychiatry, its impact upon the BBB has not been studied. This study was designed to assess the global impact of fasting upon the repertoire of BBB transporters.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the capabilities of multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in differentiating between lipid-poor adrenal adenoma (LPAA) and adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC).
Materials And Methods: Patients of two centers who underwent surgical resection of LPAA or ACC after multiparametric MRI were retrospectively included. A training cohort was used to build a diagnostic algorithm obtained through recursive partitioning based on multiparametric MRI variables, including apparent diffusion coefficient and chemical shift signal ratio (i.

Introduction/background: Mild asthma treatment recommendations include intermittent inhaled corticosteroid (ICS)/formoterol dosing or regular ICS dosing with short-acting β-agonist reliever. Due to the heterogeneity of asthma, identification of traits associated with improved outcomes to specific treatments would be clinically beneficial.
Aims/objectives: To assess the impact of patient traits on treatment outcomes of regular ICS dosing compared with intermittent ICS/formoterol dosing, a systematic literature review (SLR) and network meta-analysis (NMA) was conducted.

Background And Aims: Systemic mastocytosis (SM) is characterized by the accumulation of atypical mast cells (MCs) in organs. Liver histology of SM has been marginally described and accurate histological classification is critical, given the consequences of aggressive SM diagnosis. We aimed to describe the histological features associated with liver SM using updated tools.

Aim: This study compared neurodevelopmental screening questionnaires completed when preterm-born children reached 2 years of corrected age with social communication skills at 5.5 years of age.
Methods: Eligible subjects were born in 2011 at 24-34 weeks of gestation, participated in a French population-based epidemiological study and were free of motor and sensory impairment at 2 years of corrected age.
Introduction: Surgical intervention is the treatment of choice in patients with urachal carcinoma. Due to complications and to reduce hospital stay from open surgery, minimally invasive approaches are desirable. Nowadays, robotic-assisted surgery has become increasingly popular, and robot-assisted cystectomy can be performed in patients with urachal carcinoma with low complication rates.

Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) is one of the most common genetic disorders caused by heterozygous germline mutations. NF1 affects many systems, including the skeletal system. To date, no curative therapies are available for skeletal manifestations such as scoliosis and tibial dysplasia, mainly due to the lack of knowledge about the mechanisms that underlie this process.

Study Question: Twenty years after the inception of the first fertility preservation programme for pre-pubertal boys, what are the current international practices with regard to cryopreservation of immature testicular tissue?
Summary Answer: Worldwide, testicular tissue has been cryopreserved from over 3000 boys under the age of 18 years for a variety of malignant and non-malignant indications; there is variability in practices related to eligibility, clinical assessment, storage, and funding.
What Is Known Already: For male patients receiving gonadotoxic treatment prior to puberty, testicular tissue cryopreservation may provide a method of fertility preservation. While this technique remains experimental, an increasing number of centres worldwide are cryopreserving immature testicular tissue and are approaching clinical application of methods to use this stored tissue to restore fertility.

To estimate the proportion of the participants of the French national population-based CONSTANCES cohort exceeding the new low-risk drinking guidelines according to sociodemographic and clinical factors. From 34,470 participants with follow-up data in 2019, among volunteers aged 18-69 years and invited to enroll in the CONSTANCES cohort in 2016 and 2017, weighted prevalence and odds ratios with 95% confidence intervals (CI) exceeding the guidelines using logistic regressions were presented stratified for age, gender, education, occupational grade, employment, income, marital status, pregnancy, work stress, depression, alcohol dependence, binge drinking, cannabis use, smoking status, e-cigarette use, cardiovascular diseases, and cancer. The guidelines were exceeded more by men at 60.

The transmission risk of SARS-CoV-2 within hospitals can exceed that in the general community because of more frequent close proximity interactions (CPIs). However, epidemic risk across wards is still poorly described. We measured CPIs directly using wearable sensors given to all present in a clinical ward over a 36-h period, across 15 wards in three hospitals in April-June 2020.

Identification of clinically positive pelvic lymph node metastases (cN+) in patients with muscle-invasive bladder cancer is currently challenging, as the diagnostic accuracy of available imaging modalities is limited. Conventional CT is still considered the gold-standard approach to diagnose lymph node metastases in these patients. The development of innovative diagnostic methods including radiomics, artificial intelligence-based models and molecular biomarkers might offer new perspectives for the diagnosis of cN+ disease.

Aims: Because tobacco smoking is a major risk factor of mortality in diabetes and guidelines suggest evaluating smoking behavior among individuals with diabetes and helping smokers quit, we aimed to assess knowledge about the tobacco smoking - diabetes relationship among diabetologists and smoking cessation specialists (SCS).
Methods: An online cross sectional survey was conceived by the Working Group on Smoking and Diabetes, France. The questionnaire was tested by the members of the Working Group and deemed to be completed in less than 5 min.

Racemic ketamine is a 1:1 mixture of 2 enantiomers that turn light in opposite direction: Dextrorotatory esketamine is approximately 4 times more affine for the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor than levorotatory arketamine, which may explain why esketamine is about twice as potent as an analgesic and anesthetic as the racemate. Esketamine has attracted renewed interest in view of the opioid crisis, racemic ketamine's abuse, and esketamine's approval for expanded use. We evaluated the anesthesia literature concerning mental, cardiovascular, cerebral, and antinociceptive effects of esketamine published in English between 1980 and 2022.

Excess mortality observed in people with schizophrenia may persist in later life. The specific causes of increased mortality observed in older adults with schizophrenia and the potential influence of psychotropic medications remain partly unknown. We compared 5-year mortality and its causes of older adults with schizophrenia to bipolar disorder (BD) or major depressive disorder (MDD).
