The low attendance rate for cancer screening tests in Poland is a major healthcare concern that requires specific analysis and the development of implementation recommendations for prevention, and both actions are likely to benefit culturally similar countries. Four female cancers account for approximately 20% of all cancer cases-breast cancer, cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, and ovarian cancer-suggesting that gynecologists have a significant preventative role. Of the four, breast cancer and cervical cancer are among the 10 most common malignant neoplasms globally, regardless of gender, occur only in women and are known to have effective screening measures.

Background: IgA vasculitis is the most common form of systemic vasculitis in children but can occur in adults. Inciting antigens include infections, drugs, foods, insect bites, and immunizations. Antibiotics and tumor necrosis factor (TNF) alpha inhibitors are the most common class of drugs that cause IgA vasculitis.

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a malignant tumor with a dismal prognosis. PDAC have extensively reprogrammed metabolic characteristics influenced by interactions with normal cells, the effects of the tumor microenvironment and oncogene-mediated cell-autonomous pathways. In this study, we found that among all cancer hallmarks, metabolism played an important role in PDAC.

Purpose: Conventional catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation requires fluoroscopy, which has inherent risks of radiation exposure to patients and medical staff. Optimization of fluoroscopy parameters and use of three-dimensional electroanatomic mapping (EAM) and intracardiac echocardiography (ICE) have helped to reduce radiation exposure; however, despite growing evidence, there are still concerns about safety and added procedure time associated with fluoroless procedures, particularly in left-sided ablations, due to the potential risk of complications. Herein, we report our initial experience using a radiofrequency (RF) wire for completely fluoroless radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and cryoballoon ablation (CBA).

Dysfunction of the tibial nerve can progress to painful and potentially disabling conditions. There are multiple sites of entrapment along the course of the tibial nerve. Detailed knowledge of the anatomy and anatomic variations is critical for a surgeon to be able to properly diagnose and treat patients with tibial nerve injuries.

Morton's neuroma is a common painful pathology that occurs in the plantar forefoot. Many treatment options exist and surgical management is used after conservative treatment options fail. While within the literature, there is a high success rate with primary neurectomy procedures, the risk of recurrence of symptoms or "stump neuromas" remains difficult to treat and can lead to debilitating pain.

This article provides the surgeon with a detailed technique guide using an alternating current biphasic waveform intraoperative nerve stimulator, such as the Checkpoint surgical nerve stimulator. The Checkpoint surgical nerve stimulator is an intraoperative hand-held biphasic device that is essential when performing nerve transfer techniques for the treatment of drop foot. This specific device provides the surgeon safe, accurate, reproducible, and continuous stimulation without fatigue or a decreased response to the nerve.

Unlabelled: We present a novel technique for the management of intractable lower extremity pain, due to neuromas-in-continuity of two peripheral nerves, through combined neurectomies proximal to the zone of initial injury and subsequent bridging utilizing an allograft-coupled conduit construct.
Methodology: A retrospective chart review of 36 patients (18 women and 18 men) with recalcitrant nerve pain secondary to neuromas-in-continuity of two peripheral nerves following lower extremity trauma was conducted. Subjects underwent superficial peroneal nerve (SPN) to deep peroneal nerve neurorrhaphy (19 patients) or SPN to sural nerve neurorrhaphy (17 patients) proximal to the zone of initial injury.

Unlabelled: Advance directives can help guide care in the ICU. As a healthcare quality improvement initiative, we sought to increase the percentage of patients with a healthcare power of attorney and/or practitioner orders for life-sustaining treatment in our ICU and to increase medical resident experience with advance directives through routine screening and documentation of advance directives in the ICU.
Design: Prospective analysis.

Respecting vascular territories is crucial for flap design and viability. There are 6 angiosomes in the foot and ankle originating from the posterior tibial, anterior tibial, and peroneal arteries. Reliable perforators from the 3 major source vessels of the lower extremity are found in 5-cm intervals within intermuscular septa.

Background: Current therapeutic techniques for pancreatic pseudocyst include surgical management with a laparoscopic approach or an open surgical procedure, percutaneous catheter drainage and endoscopic drainage. Yet it remains controversial whether different treatment approaches affect inpatient outcome.
Aim: To investigate inpatient outcome of different treatment approaches in treating pancreatic pseudocyst.

Background: Limb length discrepancy (LLD) in the setting of concurrent hindfoot and ankle deformity poses an added level of complexity to the reconstructive surgeon. Regardless of etiology, a clinically significant LLD poses additional challenges without a forthright and validated solution. The purpose of the current study is to determine whether reconstructive hindfoot and ankle surgery with concurrent lengthening through a distal tibial corticotomy is comparable to other treatment alternatives in the literature.
