Statins, which are inhibitors of 3-hydroxy-3-methyl-glutaryl-coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase, are an effective pharmacological tool for lowering blood cholesterol levels. This property makes statins one of the most popular drugs used primarily to prevent cardiovascular diseases, where hyperlipidemia is a significant risk factor that increases mortality. Nevertheless, studies conducted mainly in the last decade have shown that statins might prevent and treat liver cancer, one of the leading causes of cancer-related mortality worldwide.

Background: Numerous clinical variables may influence early marginal bone loss (EMBL), including surgical, prosthetic and host-related factors. Among them, bone crest width plays a crucial role: an adequate peri-implant bone envelope has a protective effect against the influence of the aforementioned factors on marginal bone stability. The aim of the present study was to investigate the influence of buccal and palatal bone thickness at the time of implant placement on EMBL during the submerged healing period.

The pomegranate is an emerging functional food which is nowadays becoming more and more commercially attractive. Each part of this fruit (peels, arils and seeds) has a specific phytocomplex, rich in anti-oxidant and anti-radical compounds. Among these, punicalagin and ellagic acid continue to be widely studied for their numerous beneficial effects on human health (anti-inflammatory effects, anti-diabetes activity, cardio-protection, cancer prevention).

Early Childhood Caries (ECC) is a destructive form of caries that affects the temporary teeth and may be present in children of very young age as early as teeth erupt. The distinctive characteristic of caries in this age is that it affects initially a limited number of teeth which if not treated in time spread rapidly across all deciduous teeth. The purpose of this study is to determine the prevalence and severity of early childhood caries in children 3-5 years old in the public kindergartens in Tirana.

Purpose Under thin, partial coverage restoration the proper cement thickness to be clinically employed still remains an issue. The aim of this study was to determine the failure and success rates of simplified lithium disilicate occlusal veneers as a function of cement thickness. The null hypothesis was that cement thickness has no effect on the fatigue resistance.

The aim of this retrospective study was to clinically evaluate the five-year outcomes of implants placed following a combined approach to the sinus, consisting of sequential drills and osteotomes. Medical records of patients with implants placed in combination with crestal sinus lift using sequential drills and osteotomes, with a residual alveolar bone crest between 4 to 8 mm, and a follow-up of at least five years after final loading, were evaluated. Outcomes were implant and prosthetic survival and success rates, any complication, and marginal bone loss.

Statement Of Problem: New polyvinyl siloxane (PVS) materials with enhanced properties have been developed to improve and facilitate implant impression techniques. However, studies on their accuracy are lacking.
Purpose: The purpose of this in vitro study was to determine the accuracy and precision of implant impressions made with some recently introduced materials on a simulated patient requiring an all-on-4 implant-supported prosthesis.

Aim: To evaluate the three-year after loading clinical and radiographic data, collected from patients that received a prosthetic rehabilitation on conical connection implants with partial machined collar (PMC; CC Group) and same body-designed implants, with flat-to-flat connection and groovy neck design (FC Group).
Materials And Methods: A retrospective chart review of previously collected data, including documents, radiographs, and pictures of patients who received at least one implant-supported restoration on NobelReplace CC PMC or NobelReplace Tapered Groovy implants was performed.

Alveolar-ridge augmentation, anterior aesthetics, and digital technologies are probably the most popular topics in the dental-implant field. The aim of this report is to present a clinical case of severe atrophy of the anterior maxilla in a younger female patient, treated with a titanium membrane customized with computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM), simultaneous guided implant placement, and a fully digital workflow. A young female patient with a history of maxillary trauma was treated and followed-up for 1 year after implant placement.

The achievement of the optimal implant position is a critical consideration in implant surgery, as it can facilitate the ideal prosthesis design and allow adequate oral hygiene maintenance. The switch from bone-driven to prosthetic-driven implant placement, through a comprehensive diagnosis and adequate treatment plan, is a prerequisite for long-term successful implant-based therapy. The aim of the present case report is to describe a step-by-step prosthetic retreatment of a patient with primary treatment failure due to incorrect dental implant placement.

Endodontic biofilm is a microbial community, enclosed in a polymeric matrix of polysaccharide origin where are found pathogens, like bacteria and opportunistic fungi responsible for various endodontic pathologies. As clinical importance is the fact, that biofilm is extremely resistant to common intracanal irrigants, antimicrobial drugs and host immune responses. The aim of this study was to evaluate the in vitro efficacy of a Cu/CaOH-based endodontic paste, against bacteria and fungi, such as Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Candida albicans.
