In neurosurgery, accurately identifying brain tumor tissue is vital for reducing recurrence. Current imaging techniques have limitations, prompting the exploration of alternative methods. This study validated a binary hierarchical classification of brain tissues: normal tissue, primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL), high-grade glioma (HGG), and low-grade glioma (LGG) using transfer learning.

Methylmercury (MeHg) is a potent toxin that exerts deleterious effects on human health via environmental contamination. Significant effects of MeHg on neuronal development in embryogenesis have been reported. Recently, our group demonstrated that MeHg exerts toxic effects on pre- and post-implantation embryonic development processes from zygote to blastocyst stage.

There is a discrepancy between the hearing test results in patients with single-sided deafness (SSD) and their reported outcome measures. This is probably due to the presence of two elements in everyday situations: noise and head movements. We developed a stereo-audiometric test in noise with free head movements to evaluate movements and auditory performance in monaural and binaural conditions in normal hearing volunteers with one occluded ear.

Background: Lower extremity deep vein thrombosis (LEDVT) after surgical operations is a common and fatal disease leading to unfavorable outcomes including death. Nevertheless, there has been insufficient evidence on the associations between ambient air pollution and LEDVT, particularly studies from developing regions.
Methods: Based on 302 LEDVT cases and 302 controls in a general hospital in Beijing, China, this unmatched retrospective case-control study investigated the associations of fine particulate matter (PM), inhalable particulate matter (PM), and ozone (O) with odds of LEDVT.

Background: Antimicrobial prescription rates tend to be high in outpatient settings and Primary Emergency Medical Centers (PECs) in Japan encounter difficulties in implementing antimicrobial stewardship programs (ASPs). While a nudge-based ASP publishing monthly newsletters reduces inappropriate prescription of oral third-generation cephalosporins (3GCs), which requires considerable effort. Therefore, developing more preferable ASP models in PECs is essential.

Methylmercury (MeHg), a biotransformation product derived from mercury or inorganic mercury compounds in waterways, is a potent toxin that exerts hazardous effects on human health via environmental contamination. Previous studies have reported MeHg-induced impairment of nerve development in embryogenesis and placental development. However, the potential deleterious effects and regulatory mechanisms of action of MeHg on pre- and post-implantation embryo development are yet to be established.

Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play a key role in cancer progression, including non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). LncRNA long intergenic non-protein-coding RNA 00607 (LINC00607) was previously discovered to be downregulated in lung adenocarcinoma tissues. Nevertheless, the potential role of LINC00607 in NSCLC is still unclear.

To assess pacing and electrophysiological parameters, as well as mid-term outcomes, among patients undergoing His bundle pacing (HBP) guided by KODEX-EPD (a novel mapping system). Consecutive patients undergoing conduction system pacing (CSP) for bradycardia indications were evaluated. Procedural and fluoroscopic times and pacing characteristics were compared between conventional fluoroscopy (the standard group, N = 20 cases) and KODEX-EPD mapping system guided group (the KODEX group, N = 20cases) at CSP implantation and all patients were followed at 6-month.

Aim: We explored the molecular pathway and material basis of GuBen-ZengGu granules (GBZGG) in treating osteoporosis using network pharmacology and animal experiments.
Methods: The effective active components and potential targets of GBZGG were obtained from the TCMSP database and BATMAN-TCM database. Disease-related genes were obtained from GeneCard, NCBI, and DisGeNET.

Brusatol, a major quassinoid extract of Bruceae fructus, is an important bioactive component with antineoplastic capacity. Several beneficial pharmacological and biological properties of brusatol have been uncovered to date, including anti-inflammatory, anticolitis, antimalarial, and anticancer activities. To confer anticancer benefits, brusatol is reported to effectively inhibit the Nrf2-mediated antioxidant response and trigger apoptotic signaling.

Congenital long QT syndrome is a type of inherited cardiovascular disorder characterized by prolonged QT interval. Patient often suffer from syncopal episodes, electrocardiographic abnormalities and life-threatening arrhythmia. Given the complexity of the root cause of the disease, a combination of clinical diagnosis and drug screening using patient-derived cardiomyocytes represents a more effective way to identify potential cures.

The health and environmental impacts of the increasing commercial use of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) are a growing concern. Methyl mercury (MeHg) is a potent toxin that biotransforms from mercury or inorganic mercury compounds in waterways and causes dangerous environmental contamination. However, the potential interactions and combined effects of AgNPs and MeHg are yet to be established.

Heart failure (HF) leads to a progressive increase in morbidity and mortality rates. This study aimed to explore the transcriptional landscape during HF and identify differentially expressed transcripts (DETs) and alternative splicing events associated with HF. We generated a dog model of HF ( = 3) using right ventricular pacemaker implantation.

Alternariol (AOH) and ochratoxin A (OTA), two mycotoxins found in many foods worldwide, exhibit cytotoxicity and embryotoxicity, triggering apoptosis and cell cycle arrest in several mammalian cells and mouse embryos. The absorption rate of AOH from dietary foodstuff is low, meaning that the amount of AOH obtained from the diet rarely approaches the cytotoxic threshold. Thus, the potential harm of dietary consumption of AOH is generally neglected.

Alternariol (AOH), a mycotoxin belonging to the genus , has been shown to induce cytotoxicity, including apoptosis and cell cycle arrest, in several mammalian cell types. However, its effects on early-stage embryonic development require further investigation. Here, we have shown that AOH exerts embryotoxic effects on mouse blastocyst-stage embryos and long-term adverse effects on immunity in one-day-old newborn mice of the next generation.

In the present study, curcumin loaded chitosan/poly ethylene glycol nanomaterial (CUR loaded CH/PEG/AgNPs) was fabricated and characterized for wound healing efficiency after fracture surgery. The interaction of functional groups and crystal nature were recorded under FTIR and XRD spectrometer and reveals that the stabilization and purity of NPs was mediated by OH/NH groups in chitosan. FESEM showed the presence of spherical and well dispersed particles.

Limb fracture combined with traumatic brain injury (TBI) is one of the most common multiple injuries and patients often suffer from severe craniocerebral injury combined with long bone fracture of the limbs. The present study examined the expression of osteopontin (SPP1) in the tibial fracture callus and heterotopic ossification tissues in craniocerebral injury and investigated its relationship with miR-433. A total of 26 patients with tibial fracture combined with brain injury were included in the TBI group, and 26 patients with simple tibial fracture were included in the control group.

Vitamins are essential substances for normal cell functions, growth, and development. However, they cannot be produced by the human organism, so intake must be through the diet. Vitamin deficiency causes the onset of different diseases, ranging from pellagra to pernicious anemia, which can be corrected by reintroducing the missing vitamin form.

Objective: To study the effect of mogroside VI (MVI) on acute liver injury induced by sepsis in mice and its possible mechanisms. Methods A total of 60 male C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into five groups: sham-operation, model, low-dose MVI (25 mg/kg), high-dose MVI (100 mg/kg), peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator-1 alpha (PGC-1α) inhibitor (100 mg/kg MVI+30 mg/kg PGC-1α inhibitor SR-18292), with 12 mice in each group. Cecal ligation and puncture were performed to establish a mouse model of sepsis.
