Cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM) is a progressively growing pathology to afford by a spinal surgeon due to the aging of the population, associated with better treatment management and the best diagnosis and treatment solutions are greatly discussed. Nowadays that scientific literature is progressively increasing to identify the gold standard in diagnosis and treatment can be very challenging. This is particularly evident in spinal surgery with many different indications not only in different countries but also in the same local reality.

Two-year effectiveness and safety of golimumab in ulcerative colitis: An IG-IBD study.

Background: Few data exist regarding the long-term effectiveness of golimumab in ulcerative colitis. No data have been reported on real-world continuous clinical response.

Objective: This study aimed to describe the long-term outcomes in a large cohort of patients on golimumab who had ulcerative colitis.

The relation between maternal locus of control and coping styles of pediatric leukemia patients during treatment.

The present study focuses on the relation between coping strategies of children with leukemia during treatment and locus of control of their mothers. In particular, the study aims to determine whether maternal locus of control can influence sick children's coping styles, and if this relation can be used to predict maladjustments. The study analyzed a cohort of 60 pediatric leukemia patients undergoing treatment and a group formed by their mothers.

Clinicopathologic Features of Thoracolumbar Interdural Disc Herniations: A Retrospective Case Series with a Systematic Literature Review.

Background: Transdural disc herniations represent about 0.3% of all herniated discs. Preoperative imaging rarely demonstrates this condition.

Percutaneous Endoscopic Transforaminal Outside-In Outside Technique for Foraminal and Extraforaminal Lumbar Disc Herniations-Operative Technique.

Background: Different transforaminal endoscopic approaches have been developed for the surgical treatment of lumbar disc herniation: Kambin (intradiscal), Yeung (intraforaminal intradiscal), Ruetten (extreme lateral), transforaminal endoscopic surgical system (intraforaminal extradiscal) approach, and modifications. The operative technique for the treatment of foraminal and extraforaminal lumbar disc herniation through these surgical approaches has not been well described in reported studies. Moreover, each of these surgical approaches has limitations in the removal of migrated intra- or extraforaminal disc herniation.

Use of biosimilars in inflammatory bowel disease: a position update of the Italian Group for the Study of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IG-IBD).

The first infliximab biosimilar for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) was introduced in 2013, and today eight anti-TNF alpha biosimilars (three for infliximab and five for adalimumab) have been approved and licensed by the European Medicines Agency. Biosimilars present great potential in terms of cost saving and possible consequential reinvestment in the health care system. The increasing knowledge about the process of biosimilar development and use in IBD and the publication of many prospective clinical studies and real-life clinical experiences have progressively changed the point of view of IBD physicians.

Coping Strategies and Locus of Control in Childhood Leukemia: A Multi-Center Research.

Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is a very distressing experience for children and requires a special effort of adjustment. Therefore, it seems to be crucial to explore coping resources for the experienced risk condition. In this sense, the study focuses on coping strategies and locus of control in children with ALL during the treatment phase, and on their possible relation.

Motivational interviewing in inflammatory bowel disease patients: a useful tool for outpatient counselling.

Background: Most inflammatory bowel disease patients miss follow-up visits and are non-adherent to therapy due to the lack of an engaging patient-physician relationship. Motivational interviewing is a patient-centred counselling method used to elicit/strengthen motivation towards change. The aim of this study was to assess the role of motivational interviewing in patients affected by inflammatory bowel disease.

Y-shaped bilateral self-expandable metallic stent placement for malignant hilar biliary obstruction: data from a referral center for palliative care.

Background And Aim: Malignant hilar strictures are a clinical challenge because of the current therapeutic approach and the poor prognosis. In recent years, self-expandable metallic stents have proven more effective than plastic stents for palliation of malignant hilar strictures, with the bilateral stent-in-stent technique registering a high success rate. We report our experience with Y-shaped endoscopic self-expandable metallic stents placement for treatment of advanced malignant hilar strictures.

The new nitinol conformable self-expandable metal stents for malignant colonic obstruction: a pilot experience as bridge to surgery treatment.

Introduction: Self-expandable metal stents (SEMS) are a nonsurgical option for treatment of malignant colorectal obstruction also as a bridge to surgery approach. The new nitinol conformable stent has improved clinical outcomes in these kinds of patients. We report a pilot experience with nitinol conformable SEMS placement as bridge to surgery treatment in patients with colorectal obstruction.
