Diagnosis and treatment of carcinoma of the exocrine part of the pancreas is a serious problem for modern medicine. Despite the identification of a large number of aberrant mutations in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), attempts to create effective therapeutic agents based on identified genetic or epigenetic variations have not been succesful. The role of the tumor microenvironment (TME) in tumor progression is currently a popular topic.

Coatings with a thickness from 27 to 62 µm on electron beam melted Ti-6Al-4V have been formed by micro-arc oxidation (MAO) in a silicate-hypophosphite electrolyte. MAO tests in the anode-cathode mode (50 Hz) with an anode-to-cathode current ratio of 1:1 and sum current densities 10 and 20 A/dm were carried out. The duration of the MAO treatment was 30 and 60 min.

There is speculation that bacteria can influence the pathogenesis of cancer. A comparative assessment of the content of four anaerobic periodontogens (Porphyromonas gingivalis, Prevotella intermedia, Tannerella forsythensis, Treponema denticola) in the tumor tissue and in the healthy tissue of the oral mucosa of patients with oropharyngeal cancer was carried out.

The histological activity of the bowel inflammation is an extremely important morphological criterion that is encountered in the diagnosis of colitis. However, the determining of its degree is subjective and still does not have a generally accepted principle of gradation. The article describes the most common scale-schemes for assessing the severity of colitis, that include the degree of microscopic changes.

The treatment of glial brain tumors is an unresolved problem in neurooncology, and all existing methods (tumor resection, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, radiosurgery, fluorescence diagnostics, photodynamic therapy, etc.) are directed toward increasing progression-free survival for patients. Fluorescence diagnostics and photodynamic therapy are promising methods for achieving gross total resection and additional treatment of residual parts of the tumor.

According to world statistics, men are more susceptible to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) than are women. Considering the interconnection between infections and male infertility, investigation of the potential impact of COVID-19 on men's reproductive health is now a particularly relevant topic. Published data indicate decreased sperm quality and orchitis development in patients with COVID-19, including reduced sperm count, decreased sperm motility, and elevated DNA fragmentation index.

Impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) is a common carbohydrate metabolism disorder world-wide. To evaluate the efficacy and safety of 12-week Subetta therapy in correcting 2-h plasma glucose in patients with IGT, a multicenter, double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized clinical trial was performed. Derived by technological treatment of antibodies to insulin receptor β-subunit and endothelial NO synthase, Subetta increases the sensitivity of insulin receptors by activating the insulin signaling pathway.

By regulating circadian rhythms and being an immune regulator and antioxidant, this hormone takes part in the work of the ovaries: its high concentrations block apoptosis and neutralize reactive oxygen species involved in folliculogenesis, ovulation, egg maturation and corpus luteum formation.
Aim: To study melatonin status and its relationship with menstrual dysfunction and sleep disorders in obese women of reproductive age.

Due to the significant medical and social importance of neovascular (wet) age-related macular degeneration (wAMD), increasing the effectiveness of anti-VEGF therapy used to treat this disease is one of the high-priority problems in modern retinology. This article focuses on pathobiological aspects and clinical manifestations of incomplete responses to anti-VEGF therapy of wAMD, considers the proposed ways to improve the terminology and classification of responses to therapy, as well as the assessment of its correctness and effectiveness of the treatment. It also discusses the available ways to optimize anti-VEGF therapy and define the criteria of its termination in cases when the treatment proves to be futile.

Fluorescence diagnostics is one of the promising methods for intraoperative detection of brain tumor boundaries and helps in maximizing the extent of resection. This paper presents the results of a pilot study on the first use of the chlorin e6 photosensitizer and a two-channel video system for fluorescence-guided resection of pituitary adenomas. The study's clinical part involved two patients diagnosed with hormonally inactive pituitary macroadenomas and one patient with a hormonally active one.

It was characterized by the consistently low expression of genes involved in the formation of epithelial tight junctions in combination with the high activation of genes associated with the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition, as well as tumor stem cell markers. The similar claudin- low subtype was later identified at the transcriptional level in bladder cancer, gastric cancer, and serous ovarian cancer.

The article presents a case of fatal gunshot wounds in occupants of a car. The wounds occurred after the passage of gunfire projectiles through a vehicle's triplex glass barrier and had certain features that distinguished them from the common wounds due to the characteristics of the barrier. As part of the solution of the expert questions, the following up-to-date research methods were applied: scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive analysis, and computerized three-dimensional reconstruction of the incident circumstances.

An approach called cell-free therapy has rapidly developed in regenerative medicine over the past decade. Understanding the molecular mechanisms and signaling pathways involved in the internal potential of tissue repair inspires the development of new strategies aimed at controlling and enhancing these processes during regeneration. The use of stem cell mobilization, or homing for regeneration based on endogenous healing mechanisms, prompted a new concept in regenerative medicine: endogenous regenerative medicine.

Material And Methods: A total of 100 cases of IBDs (ulcerative colitis (=70) and Crohn's disease (=30) diagnosed in 2017 to 2019 were examined. Thirty patients with colitis were selected for a comparison group, who were assigned to an infective colitis group or a drug-induced colitis one at the final diagnosis.
Is to study the character of deflection of fragments of a semi-jacketed shell (a semi-jacketed bimetallic bullet with a lead core of a 5.45×39 mm cartridge for the Saiga carbine) and the ejection of fragments of the triplex glass shot with it. The experiments results showed that when a triplex glass pierced at an angle of 60° with respect to the sightline, there is a deflection towards the normal line of the flight direction of the shell and obstacle fragments.

Unlabelled: Over the past decades, a small yet convincing evidence base has accumulated that demonstrates the effectiveness of dental care for patients in health-resort (HR) settings. In addition to a positive local effect, complex HR care increases nonspecific resistance and promotes desensitization.
Objective Of The Review: Addressing the HR rehabilitation in patients with various maxillofacial diseases for further consideration of the possibility of the increased use of HR care in dental practice.

Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumors of the uterus (uIMT) are rare and difficult to diagnose neoplasms, since the morphological characteristics of this tumor are not specific and are found in other pathological changes. In addition, until recently, specific uIMT markers have not been identified and their diagnostic standards not defined. However, in recent years, there have been more and more studies aimed to identify characteristic morphological, immunohistochemical, and molecular genetic features for the differential diagnosis of uIMT.
