The taxonomic status of two gram-negative, whitish-pigmented motile bacteria KMM 9576 and KMM 9553 isolated from a sandy sediment sample from the Sea of Japan seashore was defined. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that strains KMM 9576 and KMM 9553 represent a distinct lineage within the family sharing 100% 16S rRNA sequence similarity and 99.5% average nucleotide identity (ANI) to each other.

The complex effect of oleoylethanolamide-based dietary supplement (OEA-DS) was studied in a model of diet-induced obesity in mice. Physiological, biochemical, and immunohistochemical methods were used to reveal differences in the changes in the weight of experimental animals, morphological changes in the spleen tissues, and changes in the cytokine expression profile in the spleen, blood plasma, and macrophage cell culture. First, it is shown that a hypercaloric diet high in carbohydrates and cholesterol led to the development of systemic inflammation, accompanied by organ morphological changes and increased production of proinflammatory cytokines.

Here, we describe the nervous system structures from pediveligers of eight bivalve species (, , , , , and ) with different modes of life in their adult stages, corresponding to the ecological niches that they occupy (burrowing, cemented, byssally attached, and mobile forms). We have identified neuromorphological features of the central and peripheral nervous systems in larval bivalves. We show that the unpaired sensory apical organ is still present in pediveligers along with the developing paired cerebral ganglia characteristic of an adult mollusk.

Due to their valuable meat and hepatopancreas, the world's most famous delicacies, crabs, have become target species of commercial fisheries and aquaculture. By methods of supercritical fluid and high-performance liquid chromatography, coupled with high resolution mass spectrometry, we analyzed triacylglycerols (TG) and phospholipids (PL)-glycerophosphoethanolamines (PE), glycerophosphocholines (PC), glycerophosphoserines (PS), and glycerophosphoinositols (PI)-in the hepatopancreas and muscles of the Japanese mitten crab and the red king crab inhabiting the Sea of Japan. TGs were the main class of lipids in the crab hepatopancreas, while they were found in trace amounts in muscle.

An analysis of the lipidome of the brown alga (Laminariales) was performed' more than 900 molecular species were identified in 12 polar lipids and 1 neutral lipid using HPLC/MS-MS. The seasonal changes of lipidome were determined. It was shown that acclimatization to winter and spring was accompanied by an increase in the unsaturation of both polar and neutral lipids.

This study delves into the novel utilization of cultured cells for extracellular silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) synthesis without the need for additional substances. The presence of elemental silver has been verified using energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, while distinct surface plasmon resonance peaks were revealed by UV-Vis spectra. P2X7 receptors (P2X7Rs) are ligand-gated ion channels that play a significant role in inflammation and are considered a potential therapeutic target for some inflammatory diseases. We have previously shown that a number of synthetic 1,4-naphthoquinones are capable of blocking P2X7Rs in neuronal and macrophage cells. In the present investigation, we have demonstrated the ability of the tetracyclic quinone-thioglucoside conjugate , derived from 1,4-naphthoquinone thioglucoside, to inhibit ATP-induced Ca influx and YO-PRO-1 dye uptake, which indicates blocking P2X7R in RAW 264.
