Zonulin content in blood serum of patients with colorectal cancer (CRC; n=152; 30-84 years) and patients with large bowel adenomas (n=32; 39-82 years) was measured by standardized kit IDK Zonulin ELISA (Immundiagnostik AG). The healthy control group (n=50) comprised volunteers (27 women, 23 men; 25-68 years); pathological control group (n=84) - patients (55 women, 29 men;18-84 years) with irritable bowel syndrome (n=29), Crohn's disease (n=5), and ulcero-necrotic colitis (n=50). In comparison to healthy control group, the level of zonulin was significantly increased in CRC patients (p<0.

We studied the response of neutrophils, macrophages, and mast cells to local application of silica nanoparticles (10-20 nm). Histological examination of tonsillar postoperative material from 6 patients aged 24-44 years with recurrent tonsillitis was carried out. Irrigation of the tonsillar lacunae was carried out over 5 days before bilateral tonsillectomy: on the right by Polysorb MP suspension (1 g/liter), on the left by saline.

The "gold standard" for the diagnosis and evaluation of urinary stones is native computed tomography, which allows determining stone localization and size of with high accuracy. However, this imaging technique has limited diagnostic usefulness in determining the stone chemical composition. The newly introduced method of dual-energy computed tomography, based on obtaining images at two different energy levels is highly effective in determining the composition of urinary stones.

The model of streptozotocin-induced diabetes mellitus in C57Bl/6 mice was employed to study the role of precursors of insulin-producing β-cells, hematopoietic stem cells, and progenitor hematopoietic cells in inflammation. In addition to provoking hyperglycemia, streptozotocin elevated serum levels of IL-1β and hyaluronic acid, induced edema in the pancreatic insular tissue and its infiltration by inflammatory cells (neutrophils, lymphocytes, and macrophages) and fibroblasts. Inflammation in pancreatic islets was accompanied by necrotic processes and decreasing counts of multipotent progenitor β-cells (CD45(-), TER119(-), c-kit-1(-), and Flk-1(-)), oligopotent progenitor β-cells (CD45(-), TER119(-), CD133(+), and CD49f(low)), and insulinproducing β-cells (Pdx1(+)).

Aim: To investigate the impact of therapy with the infusion hepatoprotector remaxol on liver function in cirrhosis in the outcome of chronic viral hepatitides (CVH): HCV, HBV, HCV+HBV, and HBV+HDV.
Subjects And Methods: Sixty-five patients aged 26 to 76 years, who had been diagnosed as having liver cirrhosis (LC) in the outcome of CVH: HCV, HBV, HCV+HBV, and HBV+HDV were examined. During infusion therapy, every day 32 cirrhotic patients in the outcome of CVH B or C received intravenous remaxol 400 ml in a jetwise manner once daily for 11 days.
