The ruptured sinus of Valsalva aneurysm (RSOV), a rare but well-recognized clinical entity, is invariably a form of left-to-right shunt due to rupture into right-sided chambers. It causes profound hemodynamic effects, especially when the rupture is acute. Like most other left-to-right shunts, it was only a matter of time before this rare defect also became amenable to transcatheter closure (TCC).

Background: Etiological diagnosis is essential in bronchiectasis for proper management as improperly managed bronchiectasis often worsens over a period of time. Etiological diagnosis of bronchiectasis depends on history, clinical features and HRCT scan. Recognition of the pattern of involvement & distribution of bronchiectasis in HRCT is useful to outline the differential diagnosis, map the complications and, hence, guide the further management in bronchiectasis.

Department of General Medicine, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal, Karnataka, 576104, India.

Background: This study aimed to determine the relationships between hematological parameters- hemoglobin, Total Leucocyte Counts (TLC), platelet counts, Absolute Neutrophil Counts (ANC), Absolute Lymphocyte Counts (ALC), Neutrophil Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR), Systemic Immune Inflammatory Index (SII), Neutrophil Monocyte Ratio (NMR), Platelet Lymphocyte Ratio (PLR) and the severity of COVID-19 disease and their use in predicting severity of COVID-19 disease.

Methods And Material: This was a prospective, observational, single-center study of 573 symptomatic adult inpatients of COVID 19 admitted to our tertiary care center.

Statistical Analysis Used: The above-mentioned hematological parameter levels were noted and compared between the two categories of COVID-19 disease, namely non-severe and severe COVID-19 using logistic regression methods.

The use of intrathecal (IT) dexamethasone during subarachnoid block (SAB) has not been evaluated. There are no pooled data available to decide on the optimal regimen of IT dexamethasone during SAB, irrespective of the type of surgery. There is uncertainty about its dosage, effectiveness, and safety, and a need to establish clear guidelines on its use.

Background Objectives: Mass Drug Administration of Di-Ethyl Carbamazine and Albendazole is an effective strategy recommended by World Health Organization (WHO) to prevent transmission and eliminate Lymphatic Filariasis. Under the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme in India, Mass Drug Administration (MDA) is carried out as a yearly activity in endemic areas to accelerate the progress towards elimination of lymphatic Filariasis. The study was carried with the objective to determine the coverage of Mass Drug Administration against Lymphatic Filariasis among the eligible population in Kalaburagi district and delineate the common reasons for non acceptance of MDA.

Context: Programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD L1) is a transmembrane protein that is highly expressed in neoplastic cells. Therapy with immune checkpoint inhibitors target PD-1/PD-L1 blockade-inducing tumour regression. Immunohistochemistry (IHC) for PD-L1 expression enables patient selection for immunotherapy and can be considered as a potential predictive biomarker for immunotherapy in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC).

Vildagliptin, a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor is effective in reducing HbA1c levels in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2DM) when administered as monotherapy, dual or triple combination therapy. In India, Vildagliptin is commonly prescribed in T2DM patients because it reduces mean amplitude of glycemic excursion (MAGE), has lower risk of hypoglycemia and is weight neutral. Early combination therapy with vildagliptin and metformin is effective and well-tolerated in patients with T2DM, regardless of age or ethnicity.

Renal angiomyolipomas, common benign tumors, can exhibit slow growth in sporadic cases or have aggressive tendencies when linked to genetic conditions like tuberous sclerosis. This case report focuses on the exceptionally rare angiomyolipoma with epithelial cysts (AMLEC) variant, particularly challenging to diagnose due to its scarcity. Describing a 41-year-old woman's case, initially suspected to be renal cell carcinoma during an infertility evaluation, subsequent partial nephrectomy revealed a tumor comprising smooth muscle, blood vessels, and fat, with cystic regions featuring cuboidal linings and a layer devoid of abnormal cell activity.
