Background: The rising cost of healthcare is a concerning issue for healthcare systems. The Diagnosis Related Group (DRG) system lacks direct consideration for costs related to nursing care. Therefore, to date there is no clear picture of billing models that consider also nursing activity when evaluating healthcare service costs or what factors related to nursing care affect the costs of healthcare services and would therefore need to be considered in billing models.

The limited and inconsistent adoption and regulation of nurse-led clinics (NLCs) and "See & Treat" (S&T) services in Italy needs to be explored considering their value towards patients' outcomes acknowledged in the literature. This study aims to explore the phenomenon of hidden nursing activities (HNAs) in these settings, hypothesizing that features and activities performed in these settings are heterogeneous across the country and widely underreported or attributed to other professionals than nurses. HNAs are hypothesized to be associated with a poor work environment climate and nurses' low job satisfaction.

The aim of this study was to adapt the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Task Load Index (NASA-TLX) to the home care setting and translate and validate it in Italian. An online questionnaire containing the Italian version of the NASA-TLX adapted to the home care setting was administered to home care nurses to measure workload. Content Validity Index, Exploratory, and Confirmatory Factor Analyses were used to measure the psychometric characteristics of the modified NASA-TLX.

Introduction: The aim of this prospective and randomized study is to analyze and compare the outcomes of two surgical techniques for trapeziometacarpal joint osteoarthritis (Eaton-Littler grade III and IV).
Materials And Methods: 52 consecutive patients underwent surgical intervention by two different surgical techniques and checked for subjective outcomes (DASH, NPRS), objective outcomes (ROM, opposition test, grinding test, pulp pinch, hand grip) and radiographic outcomes. Surgical time was calculated.

Objective: Considering the impact of dysphonia on public health and the increasing attention to patient-centred care, we evaluated sex-related differences in the prevalence of benign voice disorders, awareness of dysphonia and voice therapy (VT) results.
Methods: One hundred and seventy-one patients, 129 females and 42 males, with functional or organic benign dysphonia underwent Voice Handicap Index (VHI), auditory-perceptual dysphonia severity scoring (GRBAS) and acoustic analysis (Jitter%, Shimmer%, NHR) before and after VT.
Results: Prevalence of each voice disorder was significantly higher among females.

Short femoral stems, with preservation of the femoral bone stock, are commonly used in recent years for hip replacement in younger and more active patients. Obesity is increasingly spreading even in the younger population. The aim of this case-series study is to evaluate short stems compared to traditional hip prostheses in the obese population.

In recent years, several studies have identified closed correlations between the coagulation cascade and inflammatory mechanisms in infective diseases. Fibrinogen (PF) is emerging as promising biomarker for the diagnosis of peri-prosthetic joint infection (PJI). This study aims to investigate the diagnostic value of PF in diagnosing PJI and to explore potential causes influencing the diagnostic value of PF.

Background: Deep angiomyxoma (DAM) is currently included in the category of "specific stromal tumors of the lower female genital tract", along with angiomyofibroblastoma, cellular angiofibroma and myofibroblastoma. Given the high rate of local recurrences, it is crucial to recognize DAM from other tumors that possess indolent behaviour. In the present paper, we analyzed the morphological and immunohistochemical features of 42 surgically-resected vulvo-vaginal DAMs (36 primary and 6 recurrent lesions) in order to widen the morphological spectrum of this uncommon tumor.

Objective: Lymph vascular space involvement (LVSI) is one of the most important prognostic factors in early stage cervical cancer. Its qualitative evaluation represents a milestone for patient risk stratification and treatment choice, but a semi-quantitative analysis of LVSI may offer a more truthful risk model, as already demonstrated for endometrial cancer. The present study aims to investigate the performances of a semi-quantitative evaluation of LVSI in terms of patient risk assessment.
