Re-evaluation of interarch space determination in fully dentate adults with different facial forms: A clinical study.

Aim: The aim is to determine the average inter-arch space of fully dentate subjects at rest and at occlusion with different facial forms.

Materials And Methods: Fifty subjects each of three groups of facial form, square, taper, and oval facial with a complete set of maxillary and mandibular arch teeth with average age from 25 to 40 years were included in this study. An equal number of male and females were included in all the groups.

Introduction: Acute febrile illness with Multi Organ Dysfunction Syndrome (MODS) carries significant morbidity and mortality despite standard therapy in intensive care settings. Infections are the most common cause of MODS followed by polytrauma. Present study was undertaken in medical intensive care units of a tertiary hospital to study the aetiology and outcome among patients with acute febrile illness developing MODS.

Characterization of the Oxidative Degradation Product of Darunavir by LC-MS/MS.

A rapid, selective, and reliable LC-MS(n) method has been developed and validated for the isolation and structural characterization of the degradation product of darunavir (DRV). DRV, an HIV-1 protease inhibitor, was subjected to intrinsic oxidative stress conditions using 30% hydrogen peroxide and the degradation profile was studied. The oxidative degradation of DRV resulted in one degradation product.

Development of a Forced Degradation Profile of Alosetron by Single Mode Reversed-Phase HPLC, LC-MS, and its Validation.

Determination of alosetron in the presence of its degradation products was studied and validated by a novel HPLC method. The separation of the drug and its degradation products was achieved with the Jones Chromatography C18 analytical column (150 mm x 4.6 mm; 3 µm) with a stationary phase in isocratic elution mode.

Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) is a potentially fatal immune disorder which is uncommon in a nonimmunocompromised adult. A 27-year-old female who presented with fever, hematuria, generalized lymphadenopathy was clinically suspected to have lymphoma was subjected to fine needle aspiration of cervical lymph nodes. Cytology of lymph node had numerous histiocytes with phagocytosed lymphocytes, red blood cells and nuclear debris.

In India, there is a paucity of population specific morphometric standards for identifying sex from unknown human remains in different population groups. A study on drug-drug interactions through prescription analysis in a South Indian teaching hospital.

Objective: The objective of this study was to assess the drug-drug interactions (DDIs) through prescription analysis among the inpatients of a South Indian teaching hospital.

Methods: The study was a prospective observational prescription analysis conducted for a period of 6 months, from October 2010 to March 2011. The prescriptions having two or more drugs and where a DDI was suspected were selected by the physician in charge of the ward.

Objectives: To determine the protective role of a soluble epoxide hydrolase(sEH) inhibitor, trans-4-{4-[3-(4-trifluoromethoxyphenyl)-ureido] cyclohexyloxy} benzoic acid (t-TUCB), in isoproterenol (ISO)-induced myocardial ischaemic injury in vivo.

Methods: Cardioprotective activity of t-TUCB was studied against ISO-induced myocardial ischaemic injury in male Wistar rats. Cardioprotection was assessed by measuring elecrocardiographic (EKG), serum lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and creatine kinase (CK-MB) levels, cardiac calcium and antioxidant levels, and also by measuring infarct size in the cardiac tissue.
