Bayesian disease mapping, yet if undeniably useful to describe variation in risk over time and space, comes with the hurdle of prior elicitation on hard-to-interpret random effect precision parameters. We introduce a reparametrized version of the popular spatio-temporal interaction models, based on Kronecker product intrinsic Gaussian Markov random fields, that we name the variance partitioning model. The variance partitioning model includes a mixing parameter that balances the contribution of the main and interaction effects to the total (generalized) variance and enhances interpretability.

Introduction: We described a case of initial unsuccessful outcome of failed macular hole treated with amniotic membrane, that resolved after amniotic membrane exchange and silicone oil injection.

Case Description: a woman affected by a high myopic macular hole that had failed to close after multiple surgeries, had been treated using an amniotic membrane graft and 20% sulfur hexafluoride but, after the gas reabsorption, the macular hole was still open, and the amnioticmembrane. A second surgery with a second amniotic membrane patch and silicone oil was carried out.

Objective: This study aims to investigate pregnancy and perinatal outcomes in women with tension-type headache, migraine without aura and migraine with aura by comparing them to women without any headache disorders.

Study Design: Prospective cohort study including singleton pregnancies attending the first trimester aneuploidy screening at the University Hospital of Modena, in Northern Italy, between June 2018 and December 2019.

Results: A total of 515 consecutive women were included and headache disorders were reported in 43.

We retrospectively checked patients who underwent chemotherapy and/or hematopoietic stem cell transplantation from 2007 to 2016, in order to evaluate whether early computed tomography is useful in children treated for cancer with acute central nervous system complications. Out of a total sample of 443 patients, 52 children (11.7%) presented these complications.

Background: Reduced blood or cerebrospinal fluid levels of allopregnanolone are involved in menstrual cycle-linked CNS disorders, such as catamenial epilepsy. This condition, like menstrually-related migraine, is characterized by severe, treatment-resistant attacks. We explored whether there were differences in allopregnanolone, progesterone and testosterone serum levels between women with menstrually-related migraine (MM, n = 30) or postmenopausal migraine without aura who had suffered from menstrually-related migraine during their fertile age (PM, n = 30) and non-headache control women in fertile age (FAC, n = 30) or post-menopause (PC, n = 30).
