Chemotherapy combined with antivascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) or anti-epidermal growth factor receptor monoclonal antibodies is the most promising approach to prolong survival and improve the quality of life of patients with unresectable metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). Anlotinib is an oral antiangiogenic tyrosine kinase inhibitor that targets VEGF receptors 1/2/3, fibroblast growth factor receptors 1-4, and platelet-derived growth factor receptors a/β. Since anlotinib combined with oxaliplatin and capecitabine (CAPEOX) as a first-line treatment was previously shown to be effective and safe for patients with wild-type (WT) mCRC, we designed this randomized, open-label, parallel-group, non-inferiority, phase III study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of anlotinib plus CAPEOX versus bevacizumab plus CAPEOX in patients with WT mCRC.

Background: Active targeted case-finding is a cost-effective way to identify individuals with high-risk for early diagnosis and interventions of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). A precise and practical COPD screening instrument is needed in health care settings.
Methods: We created four statistical learning models to predict the risk of COPD using a multi-center randomized cross-sectional survey database ( = 5281).

Background: The monitoring of anti-p53 auto-antibodies in the peripheral blood has been used in cancer management; however, their clinical significance alone is limited. This pilot study aimed to describe the prevalence of elevated anti-p53 in newly diagnosed or recurrent upper gastrointestinal cancer or colorectal cancer in Chinese subjects. It also evaluated whether the addition of anti-p53 to a set of established tumor markers would allow for the detection of additional cancer cases than when using these markers alone.

To study the role of thrombospondin-1 (THBS1) in papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) prognosis and the immune microenvironment. A retrospective cohort study was designed, and data from The Cancer Genome Atlas database and PTC tissues from Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center were used. Weighted gene co-expression network analysis was performed to build a -immune-related gene prognostic index (T-I index).

Cancer patients experience an increased risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE). In this study, we investigated a risk of venous thromboembolism algorithm (RVTA) in patients with colorectal cancer and evaluated its ability to predict the prognosis of colorectal cancer. We retrospectively analyzed clinical data from 345 patients with colorectal cancer from January 2015 to December 2018 at the Shanghai Cancer Center to develop the RVTA.

This study aimed to compare the performance of MilliSect dissection and manual dissection. Twenty-five formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) breast cancer tissue blocks were selected for comparison. Specific areas of interest (AOIs) in invasive carcinoma on tissue sections were transferred to dissection slides by manual macrodissection or the MilliSect instrument.
