Objectives: Educational attainment is a protective factor against poor health, but high educational attainment has a weaker effect on black people than on white people; this pattern has been called marginalization-related diminished returns (MDRs). Using a national sample of white people and black people 25 years and above, this study estimates the association between high educational attainment and allostatic load between black people and white people, and within each group.

Study Design: This cross-sectional study uses data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) between 1999 and 2016, including 2761 black people and 7058 white people.

A review of the disaster literature indicates that emergency responses to pandemics are often understudied; the current COVID-19 crisis provides an important opportunity to improve awareness and understanding about this and other contagious and disruptive diseases. With this in mind, this study examines Taiwan's response to COVID-19 because it was successful in spite of a high probability of contagion. The paper first explores the assertion that cognition, communication, collaboration, and control are vital for effective disaster response; it then indicates the need to consider two additional Cs: confidence (trust of government's competency) and coproduction (public participation in disaster transmission prevention).

Background: The act of babywearing is recognizably a task of load carriage and has gained popularity among millennial caregivers.

Research Question: The implications of babywearing on lower extremity joint moments of the caregiver are still unknown during prolonged transport and a direct comparison of babywearing to carrying an infant in-arms has not been previously conducted.

Methods: Eighteen females participated in this study by performing 3 conditions: a) 3 min walking unloaded (UL), b) 15 min walking while carrying a mannequin infant in-arms (IA), and c) 15 min walking while wearing a mannequin infant in an anteriorly positioned baby carrier (BC).

Background: Accumulation of beta-amyloid and neuroinflammation trigger Alzheimer's disease. We previously found that lipopolysaccharide (LPS) caused neuroinflammation with concomitant accumulation of beta-amyloid peptides leading to memory loss. A variety of anti-inflammatory compounds inhibiting nuclear factor kappaB (NF-κB) activation have showed efficacy to hinder neuroinflammation and amyloidogenesis.
