The use of computers and electronic medical records for the management of endoscopic data are an important key to improving endoscopy unit efficiency and productivity. This technology supports optimal program operation, monitoring and evaluation colorectal cancer screening.

Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate relation between demographic factors and hospitalization in gastrointestinal disorders. Quantile regression was used to analyze the predictors of duration of staying in hospital for patients with GI disease.
Methods: This study was designed as a retrospective cross-sectional survey included all consecutive gastrointestinal (GI) patients admitted over one year period in a random selected hospital group located in Tehran metropolitan in 2006.

Application of health informatics, especially for screening process of colorectal cancer, is a most effective and cost efficient method for monitoring, management and prevention of disease. Information systems have capability for sharing and integration of information among the many stakeholders involved in colorectal cancer control (participant, family physician, specialist, hospitals, laboratories, and pharmacist). In this paper, we provide comprehensive survey applications and functions of health informatics and information systems in preventing colorectal cancer and management of screening process.

Aim: To assess the three polymorphism regions within cytotoxic T-lymphocyte antigen 4 (CTLA-4) gene, a C/T base exchange in the promoter region -318 (CTLA-4 -318C/T), an A/G substitution in the exon 1 position 49 (CTLA-4 49A/G), a T/C substitution in 1172 (CTLA-4 -1172T/C) in patients with chronic hepatitis B.
Methods: Fifty-one patients with chronic hepatitis B virus infection and 150 healthy subjects were recruited sequentially as they presented to the hepatic clinic. Classification of chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV)-infected patients was as asymptomatic carrier state (26 patients) and chronic hepatitis B (25 patients).
