A singular theory of sensorimotor coordination: On targeted motions in space.

Gravity has long been purported to serve a unique role in sensorimotor coordination, but the specific mechanisms underlying gravity-based visuomotor realignment remain elusive. In this study, astronauts (9 males, 2 females) performed targeted hand movements with eyes open or closed, both on the ground and in weightlessness. Measurements revealed systematic drift in hand-path orientation seen only when eyes were closed and only in very specific conditions with respect to gravity.

Attention rhythmically shapes sensory tuning.

Attention is key to perception and human behavior, and evidence shows that it periodically samples sensory information (<20Hz). However, this view has been recently challenged due to methodological concerns and gaps in our understanding of the function and mechanism of rhythmic attention. Here we used an intensive ∼22-hour psychophysical protocol combined with reverse correlation analyses to infer the neural representation underlying these rhythms.

Biomarkers of sepsis-induced coagulopathy: diagnostic insights and potential therapeutic implications.

Design and synthesis of isatin derivative payloaded peptide-drug conjugate as tubulin inhibitor against colorectal cancer.

A series of isatin derivatives which could inhibit colorectal cancer (CRC) were synthesized. Among those compounds, 5B exhibited good inhibitory activity of CRC through the inhibition of tubulin expression, inducing apoptosis, and causing G2/M phase cell cycle arrest pathway, which suggested that 5B could be a potential tubulin inhibitor. Based on that, a novel peptide-drug conjugate (PDC), which employed the CRC cells related receptor CD44 ligand peptide A6 coupling to 5B to accomplish A6-5B.

Synthesis and Biological Evaluation of a New Biphenyl-Based Organogold(III) Complex with In Vitro and In Vivo Anticancer Activity.

Despite recent advances in cancer treatment, there is still a need for novel compounds with antineoplastic activity. Among 11 biphenyl-based organogold(III) -heterocyclic carbene (NHC) (BGC) complexes of general formula [(C^C)Au(NHC-pyr)X], where (C^C) = 4,4'-ditertbutylbiphenyl, X = Cl or phenylacetylide, and (NHC-pyr) is a pyridyl-substituted NHC ligand, the complex bearing a 4-CF-pyridyl substituent and a chloride ligand showed promising antineoplastic activity on the triple negative breast cancer cell line. was able to induce cell apoptosis but had no effect on the cell cycle.

Safety and Clinical Efficacy of Prostatic Artery Embolization in Patients with Indwelling Urinary Catheter for Benign Hyperplasia-A Multicenter Study.
