Aluminum (Al) is a common neurotoxic element that can exacerbate intracellular β-amyloid (Aβ) deposition. Reelin is a highly conserved extracellular glycoprotein that is involved in intracellular Aβ deposition. However, the action of Reelin on aluminum-induced Aβ deposition is not fully understood.

To explore the epigenetic mechanism of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) damage induced by vinyl chloride (VC), we studied the micronuclei of peripheral blood lymphocytes in 193 subjects (92 in a VC exposure group employed in a chlorine-alkali plant; 101 in a control group employed in a power plant) and selected three pairs from the subjects (exposed and control) for whole-genome bisulfite sequencing (WGBS). The results showed that the rate of micronucleus formation in the VC exposure group was higher than that of control group (6.05 ± 3.

Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is one of the most prevalent malignancies with unfavorable clinical outcomes and limited therapeutic methods. As a key enzyme in RNA metabolism, debranching RNA Lariats 1 (DBR1) is involved in intron turnover and biogenesis of noncoding RNA. Although cancer cells often show disorder of nucleic acid metabolism, it is unclear whether has any effect on the carcinogenesis and progression of ESCC.

Benzo[a]pyrene (B[a]P) is a known human carcinogen and plays a major function in the initiation of lung cancer at its first proximity. However, the underlying molecular mechanisms are less well understood. In this study, we investigated the impact of B[a]P treatment on the DNA methylation and mRNA levels of , and in human bronchial epithelial cells (16HBEs), and provide scientific evidence for the mechanism study on the carcinogenesis of B[a]P.

The diagnosis of pulmonary fat embolism (PFE) is of great significance in the field of forensic medicine because it can be considered a major cause of death or a vital reaction. Conventional histological analysis of lung tissue specimens is a widely used method for PFE diagnosis. However, variable and labor-intensive tissue staining procedures impede the validity and informativeness of histological image analysis.

A variety of antithrombotic drugs are used during percutaneous coronary interventions (PCIs). We aimed to investigate the practicability of the use of bivalirudin and GPIs in patients receiving PCI. We searched 7 of 629 relevant records from PubMed, the Cochrane Library, EMBASE, and Web of Science for randomised controlled trials.

Department of Microbiology and Immunology, School of Basic Medical Sciences, 74648Shanxi Medical University, Taiyuan, Shanxi, China.

Parkinson's disease (PD) ranks the second place among neurodegenerative diseases in terms of its morbidity, which affects 1-2% people aged over 65 years. In addition to genetics, some environmental factors may exert vital parts in PD occurrence as well. At present, more and more studies are conducted to elucidate the association between gut microbial dysbiosis and the incidence of PD.

The clinical phenotype of bronchiectasis and its clinical guiding implications.

Exp Biol Med (Maywood)

February 2021

Department of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, the First Hospital, 74648Shanxi Medical University, Shanxi 030001, China.

Bronchiectasis is a chronic airway disease with abnormal and persistent bronchial dilatation caused by a variety of reasons. In recent years, numerous reports have shown that bronchiectasis is heterogeneous, the clinical characteristics of patients with different phenotypes are different, and the efficacy of a treatment regimen may vary greatly in patients with different bronchiectasis phenotypes. This paper summarizes the current clinical phenotypic classification of bronchiectasis from the perspective of etiology, microbiology, and the frequency of acute exacerbation, and cluster analysis was used to determine new clinical phenotypes and their statistical and clinical significance.

Background: The eosinophil (Eo) activation is a crucial factor evoking allergic rhinitis (AR) attacks; factors; the mechanism of triggering Eo activation remains to be further investigated. The interaction of antigen (Ag) and antibody plays a critical role in evoking allergy attacks. This study aims to elucidate the role of FcγRI, the high affinity receptor of IgG, in the Ag-mediated Eo activation.
