Alveolar macrophages play a vital role in the development of acute silicosis, but the dynamic changes of M1 and/or M2 phenotypes have not been elucidated. In this study, acute silicosis models of rat were established by a one-time dusting method, and the rats were sacrificed after 1, 3, 7, 14, and 28 days. The polarity states of macrophages were assessed by measuring the M1/M2 marker genes of alveolar macrophages and the M1/M2 marker proteins in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid.

Objective: Despite the fact that the human papillomavirus vaccine (HPVV) has been approved in mainland China since 2016, there is a lack of inoculation among Chinese college women. This multi-center, online interventional RCT based on the information-motivation-behavioral skills (IMB) model intended to investigate if the intervention may improve human papillomavirus vaccine acceptance and awareness among target women.
Methods: Participants were selected from comprehensive universities and allocated to 1 of 2 groups: intervention or control.

Background: College students are vulnerable and may experience high stress due to COVID-19, especially girls. This study aims to identify posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and related factors among the target population during the initial phases of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Methods: In the initial phase of COVID-19 epidemic (February 23 to March 5, 2020), 2205 female college students from six provinces in mainland China were enrolled in this study and completed the online survey about the cognitive status of COVID-19, including the Impact of Event Scale-6, the Multidimensional Perceived Social Support Scale and a self-developed 10-item Perceived threat scale.

Background: Systemic lupus erythematosus is often accompanied with neuropsychiatric symptoms. Neuroimaging evidence indicated that microstructural white matter (WM) abnormalities play role in the neuropathological mechanism. Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) studies allows the assessment of the microstructural integrity of WM tracts, but existing findings were inconsistent.

Background: This study aimed to assess the awareness and attitudes toward human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination among female college freshmen and explore their willingness and associated factors to receive the HPV vaccine based on the information-motivation-behavior skills (IMB) model.
Methods: From February 21 to April 30, 2020, a cross-sectional survey was conducted among female freshmen in seven colleges in mainland China. Socio-demographic characteristics, health-related awareness, knowledge of HPV, motivation, and behavioral skills toward HPV vaccination were assessed using questionnaires.

Silicosis is an occupational fibrotic lung disease caused by inhaling large amounts of crystalline silica dust. Transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1), which is secreted from macrophages, has an important role in the development of this disease. Macrophages can recognize and capture silicon dust, undergo M2 polarization, synthesize TGF-β1 precursors, and secrete them out of the cell where they are activated.
