Purpose: DICER1 syndrome is an autosomal-dominant, pleiotropic tumor-predisposition disorder caused by pathogenic germline variants in DICER1. We sought to quantify risk, hazard rates, and the probability of neoplasm incidence accounting for competing risks ("cumulative incidence") of neoplasms (benign and malignant) and standardized incidence ratios for malignant tumors in individuals with DICER1 pathogenic variation.

Patients And Methods: We combined data from three large cohorts of patients who carry germline pathogenic variation in DICER1.

Purpose: Adult T-cell leukemia-lymphoma (ATL) is a distinct mature T-cell malignancy caused by chronic infection with human T-lymphotropic virus type 1 with diverse clinical features and prognosis. ATL remains a challenging disease as a result of its diverse clinical features, multidrug resistance of malignant cells, frequent large tumor burden, hypercalcemia, and/or frequent opportunistic infection. In 2009, we published a consensus report to define prognostic factors, clinical subclassifications, treatment strategies, and response criteria.

Rationale: The relationship between respiratory function at hospital discharge and the severity of later respiratory disease in extremely low gestational age neonates is not well defined.

Objectives: To test the hypothesis that tidal breathing measurements near the time of hospital discharge differ between extremely premature infants with bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) or respiratory disease in the first year of life and those without these conditions.

Methods: Study subjects were part of the PROP (Prematurity and Respiratory Outcomes Program) study, a longitudinal cohort study of infants born at less than 29 gestational weeks followed from birth to 1 year of age.

Objective: Examine the effects of a 6-month health multidimensional intervention on physical function, bone density, and mood in a diverse sample of community-dwelling older adults at risk for frailty and excess disability.

Method: A quasi-experimental, pre- post-program design was implemented. Adults aged 55 years and older ( n = 337, 60% African American) participated in the intervention and received assessments at baseline, 6 months, and 12 months.

Psychology is in the early stages of examining a crisis of replicability stemming from several high-profile failures to replicate studies in experimental psychology. This important conversation has largely been focused on social psychology, with some active participation from cognitive psychology. Nevertheless, several other major domains of psychological science-including clinical science-have remained insulated from this discussion.

Rationale: Phenotypic distinctions between severe asthma (SA) and nonsevere asthma (NONSA) may be confounded by differential adherence or incorrect use of corticosteroids.

Objectives: To determine if there are persistent phenotypic distinctions between SA (as defined by 2014 American Thoracic Society/European Respiratory Society guidelines) and NONSA after intramuscular triamcinolone acetonide (TA), and to identify predictors of a corticosteroid response in these populations.

Methods: A total of 526 adults age 18 years and older (315 SA) and 188 children age 6 to less than 18 years (107 SA) in the NHLBI Severe Asthma Research Program III were characterized before and 3 weeks after TA.
