Introduction: The role of computed tomography perfusion (CTP) in prediction of hemorrhagic transformation (HT) has been evolving. We aimed to study the role of automated perfusion post-processing software in prediction of HT using the commercially available RAPID software.
Methods: Two hundred eighty-two patients with anterior circulation ischemic stroke, who underwent CTP with RAPID automated post-processing, were retrospectively enrolled and divided into HT ( = 91) and non-HT groups ( = 191).

Background: Outside-in frontal drill out entails drilling the frontal sinus floor in the midline before identifying and dissecting the frontal recesses. It is a more direct approach, especially in revision surgery or cases with challenging anatomy.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to highlight the anatomical and surgical concepts for easy and safe outside-in frontal drill out by a preclinical anatomic study on cadaveric heads.

Background: Aortic unfolding index (AUI) is an independent predictor of cardiovascular events, yet there is scarcity in the literature on its association with the severity of coronary artery disease (CAD).
Purpose: To investigate the correlation between aortic unfolding and coronary artery disease severity score.
Material And Methods: The study included 115 patients with various degrees of CAD who underwent invasive coronary angiography and were retrospectively studied.

Organochlorines (OCs) are groups of highly toxic pesticides with known immunotoxicity. The present work aimed to study the potential association between serum residues of OCs and the risk of developing systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) as well as correlating to the clinical-laboratory manifestations in a sample of Egyptian SLE patients. A cross-sectional study was conducted on 132 patients environmentally exposed to OCs.

Objectives: This study aims to present the manifestations of juvenile systemic lupus erythematosus (JSLE) across Egypt, to focus on age at onset and gender-driven influence on disease characteristics, and to compare findings to other countries.
Methods: The study included 404 Egyptian children with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) presenting to one of the specialized rheumatology centers corresponding to 13 major governorates. Juvenile cases age was ≤ 16°years at the time of recruitment.

Objectives: Our purpose was to investigate, for the first time, genotypes and alleles distribution of two single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of interleukin 22 (IL-22) (rs1012356 and rs2227485) in Egyptian pediatric and adolescents with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and to evaluate the plasma IL-22 levels and their association with gene polymorphism and SLE risk and severity.
Methods: The TaqMan™ SNP genotyping assay on a real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) system was employed to evaluate the polymorphism's genotypes. Plasma IL-22 levels were determined by using an enzyme-linked immunoabsorbent assay (ELISA).

Study Design: Retrospective matched cohort study.
Objectives: Identifying candidates for isolated percutaneous screw fixation (PSF) in thoracolumbar fractures based on Thoracolumbar Injury Classification and Severity (TLICS) score.
Methods: Patients underwent PSF were split into 3 TLICS-score categories, then matched with groups having similar scores managed either non-operatively or via open screw fixation (OSF).
