Increasing water and decreasing sugar-sweetened beverage (SSB) consumption in preschoolers provide a strategy to reduce lifelong obesity risks. To determine feasibility/acceptability and examine preliminary findings of an innovative intervention for preschooler parents to promote fruit-infused water (FIW) to decrease SSB intake. Fourteen parents of preschoolers completed a pre-intervention survey, attended a presentation with a FIW demonstration/taste-testing, received pitchers/strainers, cutting boards, and FIW recipes/instructions, and received 8 supportive text messages over one month.

The present study investigated the potential protective effects of cerium oxide nanoparticles (CNP) on human retinal pigment epithelium (ARPE-19) cells damaged by hydroxychloroquine (HCQ). Toxicity of HCQ on the ARPE-19 cells was explored with a dose response trial. CNP rescue both a pre-treatment protocol, where CNP were applied 24 hours prior to HCQ application and a simultaneous treatment protocol where both CNP and HCQ were applied together, were used.

Tire evidence is a form of trace evidence that is often overlooked in today's forensics, while frequently found at crime or accident scenes, usually in the form of skid marks. The pattern of the tire skid mark has been used before to link a tire or car to a scene, but the widespread use of anti-lock braking systems makes this an almost impossible and abandoned route of analysis. With this in mind, using the chemical profile of a tire has potential to link a car or tire back to a scene in which its trace material is found.

In Spring/Summer 2020, most individuals living in the United States experienced several months of social distancing and stay-at-home orders because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
