Monitoring the concentration of phosphate is crucial for environmental protection and human health due to its severe ecological and health risks associated with elevated concentrations. Herein, a fluorescent-colorimetric bimodal nanoprobe based on the unique fluorescent metal-organic frameworks (Zr-PDI) has been developed for high-efficiency quantification of phosphate. The metal-oxygen coordination in Zr-PDI effectively diminished its fluorescence.

Metal halide luminescent materials, particularly those doped with ns ions, exhibit exceptional optical properties. However, the luminescent mechanisms associated with the stereochemical activity of lone-pair electrons remain insufficiently explored. In this study, zero-dimensional (0D) tin-based halide (CHN)SnCl is utilized as a model system to investigate the effects of lattice distortion and lone-pair electron expression on fluorescence emission characteristics by doping with 6s and 5s ions.

Understanding the chemical structural differences of key components at varying bamboo heights enhances knowledge of its biological properties and adaptive mechanisms, promoting its high-value utilization. In this study, lignin and lignin-carbohydrate complexes (LCC) were extracted from the base, middle, and top sections of bamboo culms, and the chemical composition, micro-regional distribution, and structural characteristics of key components were analyzed. Results showed that both lignin and hemicellulose contents followed the trend: top > base > middle.

The evolution of production and lifestyle patterns has led to an increasing demand for multifunctional packaging materials that exceed the capabilities of traditional single-function options, thus driving continuous innovation in the field. In this study, a novel approach is presented, where camellia seed cake protein, derived from camellia seed oil production by-products, is incorporated into sodium alginate to create biobased active packaging films. The antioxidant and UV-shielding properties of the sodium alginate-camellia seed cake protein films are enhanced by the incorporation of camellia seed cake protein.

Despite of decades of efforts, novel approaches are still limited to attenuate or prevent skin scarring. A previous report published in Science demonstrated that inhibition of YAP promotes scarless wound repair by regeneration. Due to the difficult drugability of targeting YAP, we speculated that inhibition of TEAD, a partner molecule of YAP, might exist similar therapeutic potential.

Previous studies have advanced our understanding of paleoclimate features and dynamics in East Asia, particularly within the East Asian monsoon domain (EAMD) since the last glacial period. However, a lack of quantitative reconstructions in the boundary area between tropical and subtropical zones has largely hindered our spatial comprehension of the relationship between precipitation and temperature throughout the EAMD. In this study, we present a continuous pollen record from the Pearl River delta over the past 13.

The photocatalytic reduction of carbon dioxide (CO) to methane (CH) represents a sustainable route for directly converting greenhouse gases into chemicals but poses a significant challenge in achieving high selectivity due to thermodynamic and kinetic limitations during the reaction process. This work establishes Ru-O active sites on the surface of TiO by anchoring coordination unsaturated Ru single-atoms, which stabilize crucial reaction intermediates and facilitate local mass transfer to achieve dual optimization of the thermodynamics and kinetics of the overall photocatalytic CO reduction. Combining operando spectroscopy with density functional theory (DFT) calculations indicates that oxygen vacancies (O) inhibits the desorption of *CO, whereas Ru facilitates proton extraction.

LiNiMnO (LNMO) is considered one of the most promising cathode materials for high-energy-density lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). However, free-radical-induced carbonate electrolyte decomposition is a key factor hindering the improvement of battery stability. Inspired by the antioxidative properties of ascorbic acid (AA) in scavenging free radicals, the addition of AA during the electrode fabrication process can effectively terminate free radical chain reactions within the cycling of LNMO.

Aerogels are widely applied for construction, aerospace, military, and energy owing to their lightweight, high specific surface area, and high porosity. The high porosity of aerogels often leads to a lack of mechanical strength, which limits their applications. Here, this study reports a mechanically robust MXene/cellulose nanocrystal composite aerogel enabled by inducing dense bridging through salting-out.
