Background: Anatomical variations of the first extensor compartment can affect de Quervain tendinopathy outcomes. Our study aimed to identify the anatomical prognostic indicators of symptom recurrence following a corticosteroid (CS) injection and to assess the efficacy of CS injections.
Methods: Fifty consecutive patients received a single CS injection for de Quervain tendinopathy.

Introduction: Metal implants are broadly used in orthopedics and traumatology to stabilize bone fragments. This study aimed to explore patients' awareness, body image, and overall experience of living with a metal implant after a fracture.
Methods: A mixed methods convergent design (QUAN+QUAL) was adopted.
Complete talar dislocation-extrusion is an uncommon sequela of high-energy trauma. When the talus is unavailable for reimplantation, a staged treatment plan with the use (a) of an antibiotic cement spacer, followed by (b) tibiotalocalcaneal fusion with bone allograft interposition, may ensure a good clinical outcome.

Objective: Recent evidence has suggested that performing a tonsillectomy with CO laser results in favorable intraoperative and postoperative outcomes. This study aimed to compare the clinical outcomes of CO and dissection tonsillectomy.
Methods: We conducted a systematic search in PubMed, Scopus, and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), until the 1st of September 2021 for completed studies comparing intraoperative and postoperative outcomes of CO laser and dissection tonsillectomy.

Background: During notchplasty in anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, bone is excised from the lateral and roof area of the notch to widen the intercondylar space and avoid notch-graft impingement in extension. There are concerns that bone regrowth of the area will cause narrowing and increase the risk of complications.
Purpose: To determine the possibility of late narrowing of the notch after notchplasty using computed tomography (CT) analysis.

Introduction: Biofilm formation on voice prostheses is the primary reason for their premature implant dysfunction. Multiple strategies have been proposed over the last decades to achieve inhibition of biofilm formation on these devices. The purpose of this study was to assess the results of the available in vitro biofilm inhibition modalities on silicone rubber voice prostheses.

Posterior shoulder dislocation (PSD) with a reverse Hill-Sachs lesion is a rare injury with challenging management. This article is a technical note, describing the combination of both, modified McLaughlin procedure with posterior Bankart repair, for the surgical treatment of traumatic PSD associated with a substantial reverse Hill-Sachs lesion. Two patients with mid-term follow-up are presented.

Introduction: Absorbable materials have been used as fixation devices in orthopaedic surgery. However, their use for treating isolated ulnar diaphyseal fractures in adults has not yet been studied. The aim of this study was to assess whether Inion OTPS™ absorbable implants consisting of L-lactide, D, L-lactide, and trimethylene carbonate provide adequate fixation for the healing of isolated ulnar diaphyseal fractures, their complication rate, and the patients' clinical functional outcome.

Introduction: Osteotomy of nasal bones in rhinoplasty is associated with postsurgical morbidities. Recent evidence has suggested that a surgical method applying piezoelectric ultrasound waves for nasal osteotomies in rhinoplasty reduces soft tissue damage and causes less postsurgical morbidities compared to conventional methods. The purpose of this study is to compare clinical outcomes of piezoelectric and conventional lateral nasal osteotomies in rhinoplasty.

Background: Alpha-tocopherol, a well-known antioxidative agent, may have a positive effect on bone formation during the remodeling phase of secondary fracture healing. Fracture healing and osseointegration of implants share common biological pathways; hence, alpha-tocopherol may enhance implant osseointegration.
Questions/purposes: This experimental study in rats assessed the ability of alpha-tocopherol to enhance osseointegration of orthopaedic implants as determined by (1) pull-out strength and removal torque and (2) a histomorphological assessment of bone formation.

Background: Studies have suggested that Cutibacterium acnes (formerly known as Propionibacterium) is the most frequently isolated pathogen after shoulder arthroplasty. To address the burden of periprosthetic joint infections associated with this pathogen, new prevention methods are needed. Tyrosol has a promising record of effectiveness in the field of biofilm-associated infections; however, to our knowledge, it has not been tested against C.

Background: Although there are many nonsurgical treatment options for the primary management of chronic ankle instability, the most effective nonoperative intervention has not been defined.
Questions/purposes: The purpose of this study was to perform a network meta-analysis to compare the results of different standalone and/or combined nonsurgical interventions on chronic ankle instability as measured by (1) the Cumberland Ankle Instability Tool (CAIT) at 0 to 6 months after treatment and (2) treatment-related complications.
Methods: We searched PubMed, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), and Scopus in August 2017 for completed studies published between 2005 and 2016.
