Background: It is 1 of the standard treatment options for metastasis pancreatic cancer to receive nab-paclitaxel (125 mg/m) plus gemcitabine (1000 mg/m) on days 1, 8 and 15 every 28 days. Some patients showed intolerance and inconvenience to this therapeutic regimen. Thus, we conducted this retrospective real-world study to determine the efficacy and tolerability of a modified 21-day nab-paclitaxel plus gemcitabine (nab-P/Gem) regimen for the first-line treatment of locally advanced or metastatic pancreatic cancer.

Prognosis and Treatment of Metastatic Breast Cancer From A Real-World Scenario in China: A Retrospective Cohort Study.

Transformation of Cemento-Ossifying Fibroma into Osteosarcoma after Radiotherapy and Nine Endoscopic Surgeries.

Cemento-ossifying fibromas (COFs) are benign fibro-osseous tumors usually found in the mandible and maxilla that can show malignancy in rare situations. COFs usually grow slowly and asymptomatically until they produce local bulges, pain, headaches, and visual impairment, and have a Ki-67 index within 3%, even in aggressive and recurrent cases. Surgical resection can usually provide a satisfactory prognosis.

Hook plate fixation with versus without coracoclavicular reconstruction for distal clavicular fractures.

Purpose: Hook plate fixation is one of the most frequently used methods for unstable distal clavicular fractures, but it is still unknown if there is a need for coracoclavicular (CC) reconstruction. This study aimed to compare the efficacy of hook plate fixation with versus without CC reconstruction for distal clavicular fractures.

Methods: Eighty-one patients who underwent hook plate fixation (HP group, = 45) or hook plate fixation plus suture anchor reconstruction (HPA group, = 36) for Neer type II or V clavicular fractures were enrolled.

Background: Risk management strategies have been proposed for applications in clinical laboratories to reduce patient risks; however, effective and visual risk-monitoring tools are currently lacking in medical laboratories. In this study, we constructed a risk quality control (QC) chart based on risk management strategies.

Methods: We calculated the risk levels of QC materials based on Bayes' theorem by combining the total allowable error, QC results, and the maximum number of unacceptable errors in the laboratory.

According to the characteristics and status of research-oriented hospitals in China, this study aimed to construct a comprehensive and methodical system for scientific research evaluation. Using bibliometric research, we sorted and refined indices for both domestic and international scientific research evaluation systems, established two-dimensional indices of input and output, and constructed the theoretical framework of evaluation after experts.

Roles of Lipid Profiles in Human Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer.

This review aims to identify lipid biomarkers of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in human tissue samples and discuss the roles of lipids in tissue molecular identification, the discovery of potential biomarkers, and surgical margin assessment. A review of the literature focused on lipid-related research using mass spectrometry (MS) techniques in human NSCLC tissues from January 1, 2015, to November 20, 2020, was conducted. The quality of included studies was assessed using the QUADAS-2 tool.

Monomorphic Epitheliotropic Intestinal T-cell Lymphoma of the Stomach: Two Case Reports and a Literature Review.

We describe the clinicopathologic and molecular features of 2 cases of gastric monomorphic epitheliotropic intestinal T-cell lymphoma (MEITL), which were first diagnosed from gastric biopsies, one was primary whereas the other was gastric involvement by MEITL. Both cases were older men with stomach ulcers. Case 1 was admitted for a hemorrhage in the upper digestive tract and case 2 for edema.
