Objective: To find whether the up-regulation of soluble human leucocyte antigen-G5 (sHLA-G5) levels is a new function mechanism of anti-interleukin-2 receptors (anti-IL-2R) monoclonal antibody treatment in kidney transplantation.

Methods: A total of 215 recipients at our centre from January 2006 to December 2007 were divided into antibody use group (n = 141) and antibody non-use group (n = 74) and another healthy group (n = 69). The sHLA-G5 level in peripheral blood was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).

The impact of C-MYC gene expression on gastric cancer cell.

Mol Cell Biochem

November 2010

Department of Gastroenterology, The 309 Hospital of PLA, Beijing, People's Republic of China.

The upregulation or mutation of C-MYC has been observed in gastric, colon, breast, and lung tumors and in Burkitt's lymphoma. However, little is known about the role C-MYC plays in gastric adenocarcinoma. In the present study, we intended to investigate the influence of C-MYC on the growth, proliferation, apoptosis, invasion, and cell cycle of the gastric cancer cell line SGC7901 and the gastric cell line HFE145.

Aim: To investigate and elucidate the molecular mechanism underlying varioliform gastritis for early detection, prevention and intervention of gastric cancer.

Methods: A combination of two-dimensional gel electrophoresis and mass spectrometry was used to detect the differentially expressed proteins between varioliform gastritis and matched normal mucosa. The selected proteins were confirmed by Western blotting and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) in additional samples and the function of some proteins in varioliform gastritis was analyzed by bio-method preliminarily.

The influence of TXNDC5 gene on gastric cancer cell.

J Cancer Res Clin Oncol

October 2010

Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, The 309 Hospital of PLA, Beijing 100091, China.

Background: TXNDC5 (thioredoxin domain containing 5) is over-expressed in tumors of the cervix, uterus, stomach and lung. However, not much is known about the functional roles of TXNDC5 gene in gastric adenocarcinoma. In the present study, we intend to investigate the effects of TXNDC5 on the growth, proliferation, apoptosis, invasion and cell cycle of the gastric cancer cell line MKN45 and normal gastric cell line HFE145.

A microdissection study of perforating vessels in the perineum: implication in designing perforator flaps.

Ann Plast Surg

December 2009

Department of Plastic & Cosmetic Surgical Center, No. 309 Hospital of PLA, Beijing, China [corrected].

The objective of this study is to determine the quantity, position, and caliber of perforating vessels in the perineum, and to provide an anatomic basis for designing perineal perforator flaps. Eleven adult cadavers (22 sides) were dissected under an operating microscope (x10). Microstructures, including perforating arteries, vena comitantes, vascular anastomoses, and cutaneous nerves, were measured with a sliding caliper (accurate to 0.

[Clinical analysis of the pathogenesis of mycoplasma pneumonia in children].

Di Yi Jun Yi Da Xue Xue Bao

December 2005

Department of Respiratory Diseases, 309 Hospital of PLA, 100071 Beijing, China.

Objective: To study the clinical features and immune-mediated pathogenesis of mycoplasma pneumonia (MP) in children.

Methods: The DNA of mycoplasma in nasopharyngeal swabs was detected by PCR in 485 children with respiratory tract infection, and serum circulating immune complex (CIC), IgG, IgM, MP IgM, and CH50 were measured on the same day in 45 children with pneumonia.

Results: Significant difference was noted between the results of mycoplasma DNA PCR detection and those of serum IgM detection.

Objective: To study the application of one-stage operation of ventriculo-peritoneal shunt and cranioplasty for hydrocephalus complicated by skull defect.

Method: The clinical records of 54 patients with hydrocephalus complicated by skull defect treated with one-stage operation of ventriculo-peritoneal shunt and cranioplasty were reviewed in comparison with those of 30 patients receiving two-stage operations.

Result: The clinical outcome of the patients receiving the two surgical procedures did not differ significantly, but two patients undergoing one-stage operation required replacement of the shunt pump due to elevation of intracranial pressure.

Objective: To achieve expression of recombinant human endostatin (rhES) in a highly efficient foreign gene expression system, the yeast strain Pichia pastoris, and to evaluate the inhibitory effect of rhES on the growth of nude mouse pulmonary adenocarcinoma cells.

Methods And Results: The rhES gene was efficiently expressed in the yeast strain, and heparin affinity chromatography yielded highly purified endostatin identified by Western blotting, which proved to significantly inhibit the growth of the ECV-304 cells in vitro and also the growth of the lung adenocarcinoma Astc-a-1 in nude mice.

Conclusions: The rhES gene can be expressed in Pichia pastoris, and has the ability to restrain the growth of ECV-304 cells and lung adenocarcinoma Astc-a-1 in nude mice, showing important potentials for future clinical applications.
