Objective: To find whether the up-regulation of soluble human leucocyte antigen-G5 (sHLA-G5) levels is a new function mechanism of anti-interleukin-2 receptors (anti-IL-2R) monoclonal antibody treatment in kidney transplantation.
Methods: A total of 215 recipients at our centre from January 2006 to December 2007 were divided into antibody use group (n = 141) and antibody non-use group (n = 74) and another healthy group (n = 69). The sHLA-G5 level in peripheral blood was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).

Objective: to study the feasibility of human leucocyte antigen-G (HLA-G) as a post-transplantation prognostic biomarker and discuss the correlation of its receptor expression and the mechanisms.
Methods: a total of 215 recipients in our centre from February 2006 to June 2008 were divided into stable kidney function group (n = 173) and acute rejection group (n = 42). The soluble human leucocyte antigen-G5 (sHLA-G5) level in peripheral plasma was detected by ELISA.

The upregulation or mutation of C-MYC has been observed in gastric, colon, breast, and lung tumors and in Burkitt's lymphoma. However, little is known about the role C-MYC plays in gastric adenocarcinoma. In the present study, we intended to investigate the influence of C-MYC on the growth, proliferation, apoptosis, invasion, and cell cycle of the gastric cancer cell line SGC7901 and the gastric cell line HFE145.

Aim: To investigate and elucidate the molecular mechanism underlying varioliform gastritis for early detection, prevention and intervention of gastric cancer.
Methods: A combination of two-dimensional gel electrophoresis and mass spectrometry was used to detect the differentially expressed proteins between varioliform gastritis and matched normal mucosa. The selected proteins were confirmed by Western blotting and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) in additional samples and the function of some proteins in varioliform gastritis was analyzed by bio-method preliminarily.

Background: TXNDC5 (thioredoxin domain containing 5) is over-expressed in tumors of the cervix, uterus, stomach and lung. However, not much is known about the functional roles of TXNDC5 gene in gastric adenocarcinoma. In the present study, we intend to investigate the effects of TXNDC5 on the growth, proliferation, apoptosis, invasion and cell cycle of the gastric cancer cell line MKN45 and normal gastric cell line HFE145.

The objective of this study is to determine the quantity, position, and caliber of perforating vessels in the perineum, and to provide an anatomic basis for designing perineal perforator flaps. Eleven adult cadavers (22 sides) were dissected under an operating microscope (x10). Microstructures, including perforating arteries, vena comitantes, vascular anastomoses, and cutaneous nerves, were measured with a sliding caliper (accurate to 0.

Objective: To study the clinical features and immune-mediated pathogenesis of mycoplasma pneumonia (MP) in children.
Methods: The DNA of mycoplasma in nasopharyngeal swabs was detected by PCR in 485 children with respiratory tract infection, and serum circulating immune complex (CIC), IgG, IgM, MP IgM, and CH50 were measured on the same day in 45 children with pneumonia.
Results: Significant difference was noted between the results of mycoplasma DNA PCR detection and those of serum IgM detection.

Objective: To study the application of one-stage operation of ventriculo-peritoneal shunt and cranioplasty for hydrocephalus complicated by skull defect.
Method: The clinical records of 54 patients with hydrocephalus complicated by skull defect treated with one-stage operation of ventriculo-peritoneal shunt and cranioplasty were reviewed in comparison with those of 30 patients receiving two-stage operations.
Result: The clinical outcome of the patients receiving the two surgical procedures did not differ significantly, but two patients undergoing one-stage operation required replacement of the shunt pump due to elevation of intracranial pressure.

Objective: To observe the changes in hemorheology of human under hot and humid environment.
Methods: Ninety soldiers serving in the Nansha Islands were divided into veteran group, recruit group and urapidil-treated recruit group, all of whom were required to complete 3 000-meter running exercise in 20 min in hot and humid environment. Their hemorheology were examined before and after the exercise.

Objective: To achieve expression of recombinant human endostatin (rhES) in a highly efficient foreign gene expression system, the yeast strain Pichia pastoris, and to evaluate the inhibitory effect of rhES on the growth of nude mouse pulmonary adenocarcinoma cells.
Methods And Results: The rhES gene was efficiently expressed in the yeast strain, and heparin affinity chromatography yielded highly purified endostatin identified by Western blotting, which proved to significantly inhibit the growth of the ECV-304 cells in vitro and also the growth of the lung adenocarcinoma Astc-a-1 in nude mice.
Conclusions: The rhES gene can be expressed in Pichia pastoris, and has the ability to restrain the growth of ECV-304 cells and lung adenocarcinoma Astc-a-1 in nude mice, showing important potentials for future clinical applications.

The 16S-23S ribosomal DNA spacer sequence of mycobacterium were amplified by PCR. The products were visualized by PAGE, and evaluate the possibility for classification and identification of mycobacterium at gene level. The sensitivity of PCR in annealing temperature 45 degrees C was 500 fg/microL, whereas 50 degrees C was 5 pg/microL.

Background: To explore the relationship between microsatellite instability (MSI) and various clinicopathologic factors in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) .
Methods: Ninety-four lung cancer specimens resected from patients with NSCLC were investigated. We used a very precise microdissection technique to obtain the genomic DNA from tumor tissue and paired normal tissue , followed by PCR amplification of 4 polymorphic genomic sequences (D3S1067 ,D3S659 ,D3S966 and AR) .
This paper present that preparations of M. vaccea, which included suspensions of live bacilli, irradiation-killed bacilli and high temperature killed bacilli, for the effect on lymphocyte proliferative response of peripheral blood in healthy persons were compared by 3H-TdR incorporation method. CPM of control was 448 +/- 131, CPM adding suspensions of live M.

A case of polyembryoma which is rare in ovarian malignant germ cell tumors was reported. Microscopically, numerous and variable embryoid bodies, surrounded by embryonic hepatoid tissues, trophoblastic cells and multiple elements, were observed. The results of immunohistochemical analysis were: (1) alpha fetoprotein (AFP) was not only shown positive in yolk sac cells among the embryoid bodies, in the endoderm and in the margins of the ectodermal cells, but also in multiple elements in the mucinous matrix.
