Our previous studies have revealed that GADD45α is a liable proapoptotic protein, which undergoes MDM2-dependent constitutive ubiquitylation and degradation in resting cancer cells. Under chemotherapeutic agent (such as arsenite, 5-Fu and VP-16) exposure, DAPK1 functions as a novel p53 (also known as TP53) kinase, which induces phosphorylation of p53 at Ser15 and transactivates the p53 target Ets-1, to synergistically repress IKKβ-dependent MDM2 stability, and ultimately removes the inhibitory effect of MDM2 on GADD45α, resulting in GADD45α accumulation and cell apoptosis. In the current study, we show that there is a strong induction of ISG20L1 (also known as AEN) expression in several cancer cell lines under exposure of arsenite and other chemotherapeutic agents.

Classical mixed micelle systems make excellent parenteral drug carriers for lipophilic or poorly soluble drugs, but many formulations details are not fully understood and need further study. Thus, we constructed mixed micelle systems with lecithin and either glycocholic acid sodium salt or deoxycholic acid sodium salt in order to investigate the differences between the bile salts. Vitamin K, a lipid-soluble drug, was encapsulated in the mixed micelles, and the influence of bile salts on the quality and stability of the mixed micelle systems was analyzed.

Our previous studies revealed that GADD45α is a liable protein, which undergoes MDM2-dependent constitutive ubiquitination and degradation in resting HepG2 hepatoma cells. Arsenite exposure induces ribosomal stress responses mediated by the ribosomal protein S7, which can block MDM2 activity and result in GADD45α accumulation and cell apoptosis. In the present study, we found that one of the catalytic subunits of IκB kinase (IKK), IKKβ, exerted a novel IKKα- and NF-κB-independent function in stabilizing MDM2 and therefore contributed to ubiquitination-dependent degradation of GADD45α in resting HepG2 cells.

To study the expression of membrane HLA-G (mHLA-G) and the receptor immunoglobulin-like transcript 2(ILT2) on lymphocyte and find their association with rejection and cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection after renal transplantation. A total of 88 cases of renal transplant recipients for the first time from February 2014 to February 2016 were studied in this work. Objective: To investigate the effect of cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection after renal transplantation on the expressions of the activation receptors CD226 and sCD16 in natural killer (NK) cells.
Methods: Peripheral blood samples were obtained from these kidney transplant recipients with CMV infection, stable recipients, and normal healthy controls, and the expressions of CD3, CD56, CD16 and CD226 of all the samples were analyzed by flow cytometry.
Results: Compared with patients recovered from CMV infection, normal healthy controls and the stable recipients, the percentage of NK population in lymphocytes did not vary among these groups (P=0.
