Heart failure is one of the leading causes of hospitalizations in the United States, with >1 million admissions yearly and a 25% risk of readmissions within 1 month. In order to assist clinicians, we provide an update of the heart failure bibliography that was published in Pharmacotherapy in 2008, which followed the original bibliography published in 2004. A significant number of clinical trials and observational studies have been conducted since the early 1980s to guide management of heart failure patients.

Chronic abdominal pain (CAP) is a common and challenging problem in pediatric primary and specialty care. We developed a diagnostic algorithm to organize workup for gastrointestinal causes of CAP and improve identification of patients who are low suspicion (LS) or high suspicion (HS) to have significant intestinal pathology identified with endoscopy. We retrospectively used this algorithm to categorize 150 outpatients with CAP as LS (n = 99) or HS (n = 51) and examined subsequent endoscopic findings for all patients.

The autism spectrum disorder phenotype varies by social and communication ability and co-occurring developmental, behavioral, and medical conditions. Etiology is also diverse, with myriad potential genetic origins and environmental risk factors. Examining the influence of parental broader autism phenotype-a set of sub-clinical characteristics of autism spectrum disorder-on child autism spectrum disorder phenotypes may help reduce heterogeneity in potential genetic predisposition for autism spectrum disorder.

Community wayfinding becomes more challenging with age and decrements in functioning. Given the growth in numbers of older adults, we need to understand features that facilitate or inhibit wayfinding in outdoor settings to enhance mobility and community engagement. This exploratory study of 35 short- ( n = 14) and long-term ( n = 21) residents in an ethnically diverse neighborhood identified relevant wayfinding factors.
