Objective: Recovery of abducens nerve palsy (ANP) after endoscopic endonasal skull base surgery (ESBS) has been shown to be potentially predicted by postoperative ophthalmological examination. Triggered electromyography (t-EMG) and free-run electromyography (f-EMG) activity provide an intraoperative assessment of abducens nerve function, but associations with long-term ANP outcomes have not been explored. The objective of this study was to describe intraoperative abducens EMG characteristics and determine whether these electrophysiological profiles are associated with immediately postoperative and long-term ANP outcomes after ESBS.

Objective: Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) has been used to treat trigeminal neuralgia by targeting the cisternal segment of the trigeminal nerve, which in turn triggers changes in the gasserian ganglion. Objective: Recovery of multidrug-resistant (MDR) Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Klebsiella pneumoniae from a cluster of patients in the medical intensive care unit (MICU) prompted an epidemiologic investigation for a common exposure.

Methods: Clinical and microbiologic data from MICU patients were retrospectively reviewed, MICU bronchoscopes underwent culturing and borescopy, and bronchoscope reprocessing procedures were reviewed. This paper highlights major developments over the past two to three decades in the neuropsychology of movement and its disorders. We focus on studies in healthy individuals and patients, which have identified cognitive contributions to movement control and animal work that has delineated the neural circuitry that makes these interactions possible. We cover advances in three major areas: (1) the neuroanatomical aspects of the "motor" system with an emphasis on multiple parallel circuits that include cortical, corticostriate, and corticocerebellar connections; (2) behavioral paradigms that have enabled an appreciation of the cognitive influences on the preparation and execution of movement; and (3) hemispheric differences (exemplified by limb praxis, motor sequencing, and motor learning).

In this study, we summarise a case of a myofibroma causing mid-aortic syndrome due to obstruction of the distal thoracic and abdominal aorta leading to severe left ventricular dysfunction. The patient was managed with percutaneous intervention via balloon dilation and stent placement. On follow-up, the patient has normalisation of ventricular function, is off anti-hypertensives, and is being monitored for re-stenosis.
