Malignancy after heart transplantation is associated with poor outcomes. At present, no prediction model exists for any malignancy within the first year after transplant. We studied adults who underwent heart transplantation included in the multicenter, national Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients from January 2000 through April 2021.

Background: Combination of insulin and GLP-1RAs have shown reductions in the HbA1c, body weight, and the risk of hypoglycemia. To date, there are conflicting data regarding the effect of GLP-1RAs on insulin dosage(s).

Introduction: Potential risk factors of infant overweight/obesity in Salvadoran mother-infant dyads ( = 88) at routine 9- to 12-month wellbaby visits were examined in a correlational study at two pediatric offices on Long Island, New York.
Method: Maternal factors and infant feeding practices in the first 5 months were self-reported; infant birth weight, current weight/recumbent length were obtained. Bivariate logistic regression measured the relationship of the variables with infant weight status >85th percentile weight-for-length (WFL) for sex.

Introduction: Approximately 10% to 15% of people affected by sickle cell disease (SCD) in the United States are Latino, many of whom are primary Spanish speakers. A key tool for self-reported outcome measures, the Pediatric QOL Inventory (PedsQL) SCD module, was not available in Spanish. Here, we assess the linguistic validity of a Spanish translation and compare perception of disease-specific and generic quality of life (QOL) in a sample of Latino and non-Latino children with SCD and their parents.

Purpose: To assess the stability of insulin detemir at controlled room temperature (RT) at 25°C in different packaging systems over 7 days.
Methods: The degradation characteristics of insulin detemir were determined based on the assay results in different packaging systems (pinhole glass vial, closed glass vial, glass syringe, and plastic syringe) at RT using a reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) assay method for insulin injection. Each packaging system was compared to insulin detemir stored in the original packaged closed glass vial at 2°C to 8°C.
