Objective: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the clinical, pathologic, and multimodality cross-sectional imaging features of a cohort of 94 patients with desmoplastic small round cell tumor (DSRCT).

Materials And Methods: This retrospective study of 94 patients with pathologically verified DSRCT was conducted at a tertiary cancer center between 2001 and 2013. Epidemiologic, clinical, pathologic, and imaging findings were recorded.

Statins constitute a class of medications commonly used in the treatment of elevated cholesterol. However, in experimental studies, statins also have other non-cholesterol-mediated mechanisms of action, which may have neuroprotective effects. The aim of this study was to determine whether administration of atorvastatin for 7 days post-injury would improve neurological recovery in patients with mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI).

Security Personnel Practices and Policies in U.S. Hospitals: Findings From a National Survey.

Concerns of violence in hospitals warrant examination of current hospital security practices. Cross-sectional survey data were collected from members of a health care security and safety association to examine the type of personnel serving as security in hospitals, their policies and practices related to training and weapon/restraint tool carrying/use, and the broader context in which security personnel work to maintain staff and patient safety, with an emphasis on workplace violence prevention and mitigation. Data pertaining to 340 hospitals suggest security personnel were typically non-sworn officers directly employed (72%) by hospitals.

Damaging the inferior alveolar nerve (IAN) is the most serious complication when harvesting an autogenous graft from posterior mandible. The objective of this study was to use cone beam computerized tomography (CBCT) to measure dimensions of the alveolar ridge in the posterior mandible for estimation of a safe graft size, and then analyze how it is related to the gender, age, and dentition status of subjects. CBCT scans were screened to include 59 subjects without interfering pathologies.
