Moreover, health disparities experienced by vulnerable populations are mediated by socioeconomic, ethnic, and racial factors. Risk factors for IPV perpetration are exacerbated by cultural and gender norms, particularly among men of Mexican origin.

Barriers in advanced practice nurses' work environment impede effective use in acute care settings, reduce job satisfaction, and increase intent to leave. Fostering psychological ownership for work through improved work design has increased satisfaction, motivation, and productivity, and lowered turnover in other fields, and may have similar effects for advanced practice nurses. This multilevel cross-sectional survey study examined the relationship between advanced practice nurse work environment and psychological ownership using data from a survey of advanced practice nurses and nurse executives in Florida hospitals.

Background And Objectives: Infant/child death is described as a most stressful life event; however, there are few reports of effects on parent physical health during the first year after the death. The study's purpose is to examine the patterns of parent acute illnesses, hospitalizations, and medication changes over 1 to 13 months after neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) or pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) infant/child death in 3 racial/ethnic groups.
Methods: Secondary analyses were conducted with longitudinal data on parent health and functioning 1 to 13 months after infant/child NICU/PICU death.
Background: Lifestyle modification programs improve several health-related behaviors, including physical activity (PA) and nutrition. However, few of these programs have been expanded to impact a large number of individuals in one setting at one time. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine whether a PA- and nutrition-based lifestyle modification program could be effectively conducted using a large group format in a community-based setting.

Protein arginylation is an emerging post-translational modification that targets a number of metabolic enzymes; however, the mechanisms and downstream effects of this modification are unknown. Here we show that lack of arginylation renders cells vulnerable to purine nucleotide synthesis inhibitors and affects the related glycine and serine biosynthesis pathways. We show that the purine nucleotide biosynthesis enzyme PRPS2 is selectively arginylated, unlike its close homologue PRPS1, and that arginylation of PRPS2 directly facilitates its biological activity.

Recent advances in the understanding of the initiation and perpetuation of the immune response strongly suggest that all forms of noninfective immunologically induced scleral inflammation have a common origin. Analysis of the progress of patients with scleritis corroborates the current clinical classification that, together with studies of the immunohistology fluoresceine/ICG angiography, 3D proteoglycan, and keratan sulphate electron microscopy of scleritis, strongly suggests that from the initiation of the inflammatory process, necrotizing scleritis and diffuse and nodular scleritis not only pursue a different course but also have a different pathogenesis; nonnecrotizing scleritis being the consequence of an auto immune response, whereas necrotizing scleritis being the complication of an already present (if not always manifest), systemic immune-mediated systemic disease and its associated vasculitis. The increasing imaging capacity of anterior segment ocular coherence tomography (OCT) and en face OCT enables the changes occurring in the sclera during the course of the disease to be observed for the first time.
